You will work closely with customers to understand their strategic priorities, business processes and operational challenges, translating these requirements into practical, scalable and effective Business Central solutions.\n\nYou will lead discovery and solution-design workshops, own functional workstreams, guide customers through key decisions and ensure that solutions are delivered in line with agreed scope, quality and business outcomes. You will also play an important role in pre-sales activity, customer account development and the mentoring of less-experienced consultants.\n\nThe successful candidate will combine deep Business Central and finance process expertise with strong consulting, stakeholder management and delivery leadership skills.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nFunctional and Solution Leadership\nLead the functional delivery of end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV implementation projects.\nTake ownership of functional workstreams from initial discovery and requirements gathering through solution design, configuration, testing, training, data migration, go-live and post-implementation support.\nLead structured discovery workshops with senior stakeholders, subject-matter experts and business users.\nAnalyse complex business processes, operational requirements and existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement.\nTranslate business requirements into clear, scalable Business Central solution designs.\nChallenge requirements constructively where standard Business Central functionality or an improved process would deliver a better outcome.\nDefine the functional architecture for Business Central solutions, including the appropriate use of standard functionality, configuration, integrations, extensions and complementary applications.\nProduce high-quality functional specifications, solution design documents, process maps, configuration workbooks and decision logs.\nWork closely with technical architects, developers and integration specialists to ensure that functional requirements are understood and delivered correctly.\nEnsure that proposed solutions align with customer objectives, agreed scope and established implementation standards.\nProject Delivery\nLead functional planning and delivery across multiple project phases and workstreams.\nProvide clear estimates, delivery assumptions and functional dependencies to project managers and delivery leads.\nManage customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential gaps between requested functionality, agreed scope and available budget.\nSupport the planning and execution of system integration testing, user acceptance testing and regression testing.\nDevelop test scenarios and acceptance criteria that reflect business requirements and end-to-end processes.\nGuide customers through data migration planning, including data preparation, validation, reconciliation and cutover activities.\nLead functional readiness reviews and support go-live planning and implementation.\nProvide structured hypercare and post-go-live support, ensuring that issues are prioritised, investigated and resolved effectively.\nMaintain accurate records of requirements, decisions, actions, risks, issues and solution changes.\nIdentify and escalate delivery risks early, with practical recommendations for mitigation.\nEnsure that project activity complies with internal delivery standards, customer governance requirements and applicable regulations.\nCustomer and Stakeholder Management\nBuild trusted relationships with customer sponsors, finance leaders, operational stakeholders and project teams.\nAct as a senior functional adviser, helping customers make informed decisions about Business Central functionality, process design and future improvements.\nCommunicate complex functional and technical concepts clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.\nFacilitate workshops and governance discussions in a structured, confident and inclusive manner.\nManage challenging conversations relating to scope, priorities, solution constraints and delivery risks.\nIdentify opportunities to improve the customer’s use of Business Central following implementation.\nWork with account and managed services teams to identify support, optimisation and enhancement opportunities.\nMaintain a strong focus on customer outcomes while balancing scope, quality, effort and commercial considerations.\nPre-Sales and Practice Development\nSupport pre-sales engagements by leading high-level discovery sessions and assessing customer requirements.\nPrepare and deliver relevant Business Central demonstrations tailored to the customer’s business processes and priorities.\nContribute to solution proposals, statements of work, delivery estimates and implementation approaches.\nIdentify solution assumptions, dependencies, risks and potential areas of complexity during the sales process.\nSupport the transition from pre-sales into delivery, ensuring that commitments and customer expectations are clearly understood.\nContribute to the development of reusable templates, delivery methods, demonstration environments and practice standards.\nStay informed about developments across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics NAV and the wider Microsoft business applications ecosystem.\nShare knowledge and lessons learned across the Business Central practice.\nIdentify opportunities for improved delivery efficiency, solution quality and customer value.\nLeadership and Mentoring\nProvide functional leadership and guidance to consultants, associate consultants and wider project team members.\nMentor less-experienced consultants in discovery, process analysis, solution design, configuration, documentation and customer engagement.\nReview functional deliverables and provide constructive, evidence-based feedback.\nDelegate activities clearly, setting appropriate expectations for quality, ownership and timescales.\nSupport colleagues when functional issues require escalation or additional expertise.\nEncourage consistent delivery standards and knowledge sharing across the Expertise\n\nSignificant experience working as a senior or lead functional consultant in customer-facing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV implementations.\nStrong finance and business process expertise developed through consulting, implementation or customer-facing delivery roles.\nDemonstrable experience leading complete implementation lifecycles, including: Discovery and requirements gathering\nBusiness process analysis and process mapping\nFit-gap analysis\nFunctional solution design\nSystem configuration\nFunctional specification development\nSystem integration testing\nUser acceptance testing\nData migration\nEnd-user and administrator training\nCutover and go-live support\nHypercare and post-implementation support\n\nAt least five years of relevant Business Central or Dynamics NAV functional consulting experience, with experience leading functional workstreams or complete implementations.\nStrong functional knowledge of Business Central across areas such as: General Ledger\nFinancial reporting\nFixed Assets\nAccounts Payable and procure-to-pay\nAccounts Receivable and order-to-cash\nCash management and bank reconciliation\nPurchasing and sales\nInventory and warehouse processes\nApproval workflows\nJobs or project management\nDimensions\nRoles and permissions\nConfiguration packages\nMulti-company and multi-currency environments\n\nExperience producing clear functional specifications and solution design documentation for technical delivery teams.\nExperience leading workshops and presenting recommendations to senior customer stakeholders.\nStrong understanding of the relationship between business requirements, standard product functionality, configuration and custom development.\nExperience supporting existing Business Central implementations and identifying opportunities for optimisation or additional services.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work across several functional workstreams.\nStrong risk, issue and dependency management skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nHighly Desirable Skills and Experience\nExperience supporting Business Central pre-sales engagements, including discovery, solution positioning, demonstrations and proposal development.\nExperience with Jet Reports or other Business Central reporting
