You will partner with Account Executives to qualify, progress, and close revenue opportunities with civilian, defense, and intelligence community agencies, guiding them through demos, architecture discussions, and proofs-of-concept that prove Coder’s value for both human developers and the AI coding agents working alongside them, often inside classified or air-gapped networks.\nThis is not a scripted-demo-only role. You are equally comfortable running a deep technical proof-of-concept inside a disconnected or classified environment and stepping back to translate a technical win into a business case a federal decision-maker will act on. You are energized by ambiguity, motivated by winning deals the right way, and capable of bringing the voice of the agency back into how Coder builds and sells.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn the technical relationship with agency prospects through pre-sales, and efficiently manage towards a technical win\n\nLead or support post-sales relationships and renewals when needed\n\nDemo the Coder platform from the developer, administrator, and AI agent workflow perspectives, including in classified and air-gapped settings\n\nInstall Coder on cloud (including GovCloud) and on-prem Kubernetes or VM infrastructure, up to and including air-gapped and disconnected networks\n\nRun proofs-of-concept that prove Coder’s value, including for agentic and LLM-powered development workflows, and accelerate deals\n\nEvolve into a subject-matter expert on Cloud Development Environments, agentic AI development, and their impact on mission delivery\n\nServe as the agency’s voice, routing insights to Engineering and Product\n\nLog feature requests and issues in our public/private Git repositories\n\nTroubleshoot Coder deployments, networking, and Kubernetes components during evaluation, including within classified networks\n\nContribute pull requests to Coder’s documentation\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nActive TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required at time of hire; U.S. citizenship required\n\nPhysically based in the DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV) area, with ability to travel to customer sites as required\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer selling infrastructure or developer tooling, ideally into federal, defense, or intelligence community customers\n\nExperience with AI tooling at both the user level and infrastructure level, including coding agents and assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as well as LLM infrastructure such as model proxies and LLM routing layers (e.g. LiteLLM), and the ability to speak credibly to how agencies evaluate and adopt them, including in classified environments\n\nStrong customer-facing skills that win trust with technical stakeholders and program offices\n\nAbility to translate technical hurdles into mission value in real time\n\nUnderstand agentic AI software development use cases and advocate passionately where appropriate\n\nComfortable leading architecture demos and deep-dive troubleshooting sessions in secure, restricted-access environments\n\nDeep Linux fundamentals and comfort at the command line\n\n3+ years hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes\n\nExperience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or on-prem/air-gapped Kubernetes deployments\n\n3+ years with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling\n\nSolid grasp of networking: ingress controllers, proxies, load balancers, and operating within DoD/IC network boundaries\n\nStartup-speed execution, ownership mindset, and a player-coach attitude\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou can walk into an ambiguous agency conversation, diagnose the real technical, security, and mission blockers, and design a proof-of-concept that proves value fast, even inside a classified network.\n\nYou translate deep technical fluency, including on agentic and LLM-based development workflows, into a business case that resonates with program managers, security officers, and mission owners alike.\n\nAgencies leave your demos and PoCs with a clear, credible picture of how Coder fits their environment, their developers, and their AI agents, without compromising their security posture.\n\nYou are as invested in winning the account the right way as you are in closing the current deal; you spot risks early, whether technical, security, or procedural, and loop in the right people.\n\nYour field experience feeds back into product and marketing, sharpening how Coder demos and sells into the public sector.\n\nBonus Tacos\n(Tacos? If you need an ice-breaker, ask how we say thanks by giving tacos!)\n\nSuccess at both high-growth startups and larger software vendors\n\nDirect experience deploying or supporting AI coding agents in customer environments (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, or similar autonomous/semi-autonomous dev tools)\n\nPrior military, intelligence community, or federal civilian service background\n\nExperience with FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5, or ATO processes\n\nBackground in CI/CD, DevOps, or developer-platform products\n\nExperience in platform engineering or developer platform teams\n\nKubernetes, AWS, or related certifications\n\nAbout Coder\nCoder is the leading platform for AI development Infrastructure, enabling enterprises to securely run human and AI-driven development workflows in consistent, governed environments. Coder provides self-hosted, agent-ready workspaces that unify developer productivity and platform governance. With Coder, enterprises can confidently evolve from human-only development to AI-assisted and autonomous workflows, without sacrificing security, compliance, or performance. Learn more at coder.com.\nInterview process\nWe believe that the interview process should be transparent, consistent, and enjoyable. We value your time and hope to complete the interview process in two to four weeks, if schedules allow. Through your interviews, you will meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and senior leaders.\nAI use during the interview process\nAs an AI company, Coder embraces the use of AI tools, and we want to be transparent about our expectations as you navigate our interview process.\nNot permitted: Using AI assistance during conversational interviews.\nPermitted: Using AI tooling for take-home assessments. Please flag where and to what extent it was used in your take-home. Your submission will not be penalized for using AI as long as it is done honestly.\nOur use of AI in hiring\nWe use AI tools to help manage our recruitment process efficiently and fairly. Specifically:\nAshby and Brainerr help us review inbound applications by surfacing candidates who best match the role requirements we've defined. This tool does not make hiring decisions; it helps our team prioritize which applications to review first.\n\nGranola takes notes during our interview calls so our team can focus on the conversation with you.\n\nAll hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws. Your data is not used to train AI models.\nIn accordance with New York City Local Law 144, an independent bias audit has been conducted on \"Automated Employment Decision Tools\"; results are available for Ashby.\nIf you're applying for a role at Coder and have questions about how we use AI in our process, or if you'd like to request information about the data we collect, please contact .\nCoder is a proud Equal Opportunity Employer\nWe are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.","description_format":"text","description_chars":8020,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":true,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["DevOps & Platform Engineering","Developer Tools"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-05T10:17:14Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Filed H-1B visas in the last two years","filings_12m":0,"filings_prev_12m":1,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-29T16:27:21+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":45,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.816,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":56,"expected_fill_days":39,"reasons":["conf:3","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-10-31T05:58:55Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":264000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/coder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/coder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-31T10:30:01Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":16070,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-01T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":961},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=961"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fcoder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fcoder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fcoder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/coder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fcoder-technologies-senior-solutions-engineer-us-federal"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":238663}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"coder.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":238663},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people);
