Candidates must currently reside in the Miami area.\nWe are seeking a Technical Lead to drive the architecture, technical direction, and delivery of an event-driven microservices platform built on AWS. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, requiring deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will mentor engineers, establish technical standards, and ensure scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions.\nWhat You Can Expect (Responsibilities)\nDefine and own the architecture of Java/Spring Boot microservices and distributed systems.\nLead the design of event-driven solutions, including messaging, streaming, and distributed transaction patterns.\nEstablish API standards, governance, versioning strategies, and integration best practices.\nGuide engineering teams through technical decisions, code reviews, and delivery execution.\nPartner with business and product stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nDrive observability, resilience, security, performance, and AWS cost optimization initiatives.\nEvaluate technologies, remove technical blockers, and support long-term platform evolution.\nRequirements\n10+ years of backend engineering experience, including 4+ years leading development teams or technical initiatives.\nDeep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture design.\nStrong experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures using AWS services such as Kinesis, SQS, and SNS.\nHands-on experience with distributed transactions, saga patterns, and orchestration strategies.\nStrong AWS architecture experience, including API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, compute, networking, and security services.\nExperience defining observability strategies and implementing monitoring, tracing, and alerting solutions.\nProven ability to lead engineers, drive technical decisions, and establish development standards.\nNice to Have\nExperience with Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.\nExperience with orchestration platforms such as Temporal, Camunda, or AWS Step Functions.\nInfrastructure as Code and CI/CD expertise (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).\nFinancial services or payments industry experience.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development, LLM-based solutions, MCP, RAG, and AI governance practices.\nBenefits\nOn-site collaboration in a dynamic and fast-paced environment in the Miami / Fort Lauderdale area.\nLong-term contract engagement with high impact and autonomy.\nStrategic and high-visibility role within a modern engineering culture.\nOpportunity to influence technical strategy, especially regarding modern event-driven architectures and AI integrations.\nCollaborative international team with strong technical leadership\nWhy join Coderio?\nAt Coderio, we value talent and excellence.
