In our test engineering teams, we bridge the gap between complex physical hardware (advanced routers, NPUs) and high-velocity, AI-driven development\nWe are looking for an engineer who combines solid networking hardware intuition with an AI-first mindset to rapidly build, test, and maintain a Python testing tool across diverse router platforms. You don't need to write low-level code from scratch-your super-power is leveraging LLMs to code fast, flash hardware, and validate your code efficiently.\nWhat else you should know:\nWe work using client-supplied hardware and tools\n\nThe project is managed by the client, but the Codilime manager is also involved\n\nThe client is from the US, so early evening meetings may be required\n\nYour role\nAs a part of the project team, you will be responsible for:\nResearch and define how to implement client requirements and ideas best\n\nEngage directly with client architects and end-users through design calls and syncs to gather requirements, clarify edge cases, and shape the future of the testing tool\n\nDevelop and maintain a Python-based validation framework designed to test low-level SDK APIs\n\nUse modern AI coding tools (LLMs, Copilot, Codex, etc.) as your primary workflow to rapidly generate, refactor, and expand test scripts\n\nDo we have a match?\nAs a Networking Hardware System Engineer you must meet the following criteria:\nStrong experience with Python for building applications.\n\nStrong Python proficiency for building and maintaining test automation with pytest.\n\nExperience building pytest frameworks with fixtures, parametrization, markers, collection hooks, phase routing, timeouts, recovery, and artifact capture.\n\nC/C++ Literacy: Ability to read and analyze C/C++ source code to understand underlying hardware behavior.\n\nUnderstanding of physical router hardware, router components such as optical modules and FRUs, and NPUs and driver libraries.\n\nStrong root-cause analysis skills using logs, traces, test reports, service journals, core files, and system state.\n\nExperience testing low-level SDK APIs and hardware driver features across Python wrappers, native APIs, and physical hardware state.\n\nStrong QA background in test design, API validation, and defect troubleshooting.\n\nUnderstanding of agentic workflows, including plans, skills, MCPs, specialist agents, context management, and long-running task recovery.\n\n Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:\nExperience integrating Python with native C/C++ libraries through SWIG or similar binding technologies, including awareness of ABI compatibility, shared-library dependencies, packaging, and process isolation.\n\nHands-on experience with physical router hardware, router components such as optical modules and FRUs, and NPUs.\n\nUnderstanding of L2/L3 networking concepts, IP routing, and core protocols.\n\nBasic familiarity with
