We are seeking a Commissiong Technician to join our team.\nThis is an Entry-level or developing technical position intended to provide hands-on experience in building systems commissioning. Under the direction of an experienced Commissioning Specialist or Commissioning Manager, the Commissioning Technician I will assist with field observations, equipment verification, documentation review, pre-functional inspections, functional performance testing, deficiency tracking, and preparation of commissioning documentation.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nLearn to operate commissioning and test and balance tools proficiently.\nAssist with field observations and verification of installed building systems and equipment.\nAssist with pre-functional inspections and functional performance testing.\nReview and organize equipment startup, testing, and related field documentation.\nDocument observed deficiencies, incomplete work, testing results, and required follow-up actions.\nCommunicate field progress, constraints, deficiencies, and testing results to the Commissioning Manager.\nComplete assigned tasks accurately, safely, and within established project schedules.\nListen carefully to verbal and written instructions, follow supervisor instructions, and accurately carry out assigned commissioning activities.\nAsk appropriate questions when instructions, testing procedures, or expected results are unclear.\nCoordinate professionally and effectively in person with trade subcontractors, controls technicians, and other field personnel.\nClearly communicate testing requirements, planned activities, observed deficiencies, and required follow-up actions.\nMaintain a professional and respectful approach when working through field issues.\nFollow established lines of communication and avoid directing subcontractors beyond the authority assigned by the Commissioning Manager or project team.\nRead and comprehend technically written material.\nMaintain company work gear, cellphones, computers, tools, equipment, supplies and vehicles in good working order.\nAttend meetings and provide input necessary to coordinate and complete assigned tasks.\nAdhere to schedules provided by Supervisor.\nAdapt work habits to accommodate a variety of office and field tasks.\nPerform other duties as may be assigned.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES\nAttentive listener who can understand and follow verbal and written instructions\nPossess organizational and clear written/verbal communication skills; computer skills with databases and Microsoft Windows Operating systems (i.e. Word and Excel).\nWillingness to learn building systems, commissioning processes, construction-site practices, construction project-management platforms, commissioning software, and other project-specific programs used to manage documents, observations, issues, and field activities.\nPossess team player attitude.\n Expected Hourly rate is $28.00 per hour.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nMust maintain a valid passport and be willing and able to travel as project needs require, potentially including:\novernight and extended travel assignments within and outside home state and internationally, lasting up to two consecutive weeks,\nnights, weekends and holidays, and\nadverse weather conditions.\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\nHigh School degree or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.\nPrevious experience in the construction industry preferred.\nFamiliarity with construction sites, building systems, trade coordination, construction drawings, or field documentation desirable.\nExperience preferences include construction, commissioning, TAB, and direct digital control systems.\nExperience with mechanical/electrical engineering, design and construction processes desirable.\nExperience with construction site work activity conditions and safety protocols desirable.\nMaintaining a valid state driver’s license is required.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
