The mechanical engineering team that the successful applicant will be joining is focused on HVAC and building systems design. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who is excited to build their technical skills while contributing to meaningful and challenging projects.\nAs part of our collaborative, multi-discipline team, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project managers on the planning and design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience with system design, equipment selection, specifications, heating and cooling load calculations, and construction documents while developing a strong foundation in consulting engineering.\nOur mechanical team supports a diverse range of clients and projects, including healthcare, education, local and federal government, and commercial facilities. Depending on project needs, you may also gain exposure to commissioning, energy modeling, and projects designed for Alaska’s unique climate.\nWe’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, is eager to learn, communicates well, and thrives as part of a team. If you’re looking for an opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, take on increasing responsibility, and build a well-rounded mechanical engineering career, we’d love to hear from you.\n Requirements Include:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis from an ABET-accredited program\n0-3 years engineering experience\nStrong interest in HVAC, plumbing, and building mechanical systems\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work effectively both collaboratively and independently\nAbility to begin employment in Q1 2027\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPassing score on FE Exam\nHVAC, thermodynamics, heat transfer, or other building-systems-related coursework\nExperience with Revit or similar design software through coursework, internships, or professional experience\nInternship or professional experience in consulting engineering, HVAC, plumbing, or building systems\nExposure to Arctic or Subarctic design considerations\nThis position is not eligible for current, or future, sponsorship at any time.\nThere are no relocation funds provided by the company for relocation to Anchorage, Alaska where this position is located.\n Coffman Engineers is a company that truly focuses on its employees.
