# Construction Superintendent

Position Summary The Construction Superintendent directs construction activities for buildings and other construction projects, coordinating employees, subordinate supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors. This position plans and oversees field execution to keep work on schedule, maintain workmanship and specification requirements, resolve construction issues, and control the use of labor, materials, and equipment. Responsibilities are carried out personally or through subordinate supervisors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Planning and Scheduling Study project specifications to determine construction procedures, the sequence of work, and trade requirements for each phase of construction. Plan field activities around project start dates, completion dates, material availability, and the coordination of trades. Direct personnel and subcontractors in executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating construction phases to prevent delays. Review project progress and adjust work schedules in response to progress reports, material usage, costs, and changing field conditions.
