This position is responsible for maintaining floors throughout the community while following established cleaning, safety, and infection control practices.\nWorking as part of the Environmental Services team, the Floor Technician helps ensure resident rooms and common areas are maintained to a high standard while always respecting resident privacy, dignity, and comfort.\n*The position is full-time; the schedule is 6 a.m.- 2 pm and requires EOW availbility!\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform routine floor care throughout resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing.\nFollow established daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic floor-maintenance schedules.\nDeep clean, strip, and wax tiled floors according to the community’s preventive maintenance schedule.\nSafely prepare work areas, including moving furniture and coordinating with team members when resident assistance is needed.\nCollect and dispose of facility trash according to established schedules and procedures.\nProperly operate, clean, and maintain floor-care equipment and promptly report equipment concerns or needed repairs.\nFollow infection prevention, safety, hygiene, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.\nComplete required cleaning and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.\nRespect resident privacy, dignity, preferences, and individual needs while working in resident areas.\nMaintain a professional appearance and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.\nReport safety concerns, resident concerns, equipment issues, or other conditions that may affect completion of assigned work.\nParticipate in required training, emergency preparedness activities, and other community initiatives as assigned.\nPerform additional related duties as directed by the Housekeeping Director.\nRequirements\nCANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and certificates:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nWillingness to complete all required employment, safety, infection prevention, and skills training as assigned by the community.\nExperience, Competencies, and Skills:\nPrevious experience in long-term care, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred.\nFloor-care or commercial cleaning experience, including familiarity with buffing, stripping, and waxing floors, is preferred.\nAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.\nAbility to perform basic math calculations as needed for the position.\nStrong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness, safety, and quality.\nAbility to work independently, follow established schedules, and appropriately prioritize assigned responsibilities.\nDependable team player with positive interpersonal and communication skills.\nAbility to interact professionally and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members.\nAbility to safely operate and care for cleaning and floor-maintenance equipment.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to resident privacy and dignity.\nFlexibility to work weekends, holidays, or additional hours when operational needs require.\nAbility to perform the physical requirements of the position, including prolonged standing and walking;
