It partners with multiple business units for the design and development of products and throughout active product lifecycles. This position is part of the Sustaining Engineering team, which is a group within the Operations Engineering team.\nThe Role:\nThis Senior Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for supporting existing product designs and supply chain. This includes production at suppliers, contract manufacturers, distribution centers and projects to improve manufacturability, optimize costs, and improve quality.\n\nEssential Functions:\nEnsure that materials selection and product designs achieve optimal balance of cost, quality, and manufacturability\nInvestigate quality issues through application of sound problem solving skills in a team environment\nCollect production data, analyze, report, take corrective action, and drive continuous improvement\nUnderstanding supplier capabilities to aid design discussions and deliver cost reduction while maintaining quality\nSupport assembly, test, and inspection methods for products\nPerform qualifications to support end of life component replacements\nActively search for cost savings in design, assembly process or components in all products\nAbility to travel locally (mostly Asia) to CMs, vendors, or customers. Travel is approximately 20%.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nDesign new and improve on existing assembly fixtures and processes\nHands on experience in mechanical and/or PCB manufacturing process engineering, optical knowledge is a plus\nKnowledge of design for manufacture, assembly techniques, die castings, injection molding, cable assemblies, and surface treatments. Experience with should-cost modeling is a plus.\nProficient in CAD (SolidWorks is a plus)\nUse of AI, or other processes to aid in your own day to day work, and the willingness to teach others\nHigh energy and results driven using facts and data\nExcellent communicator that can work directly with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and designers located around the world, this will likely include off hours meetings\nDemonstrated success in setting challenging goals and achieving them when working on multiple projects\nExperience with document control\n\nMinimum education and work experience required:\nBachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or equivalent engineering\n2-5 years of experience with relevant, high-tech, electronics and electro-mechanical products\nDisclaimer:\n· The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
