As part of our engineering transformation, we are building a strategic Warsaw Engineering Hub that will become one of Cognism's two primary technology centres. \nAbout the Role \nAs a Senior Platform Engineer / SRE, you will build and operate the cloud platform that enables Cognism engineering teams to deliver software safely, reliably and at scale. You will work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, developer experience, automation and operational excellence. This is a hands-on engineering role where reliability is treated as a product and automation is the default approach. \nWhat You'll Do \nDesign, build and continuously improve Cognism's cloud platform running on AWS. \nDevelop Infrastructure as Code using modern automation practices. \nBuild and maintain Kubernetes platforms supporting engineering teams globally. \nImprove deployment pipelines, CI/CD workflows and developer productivity. \nDrive observability through monitoring, logging, alerting and distributed tracing. \nParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis and reliability improvements. \nPartner with Engineering, Security and Architecture teams to improve platform resilience. \nIdentify opportunities for cloud optimisation and FinOps improvements. \nPromote AI-assisted engineering practices for infrastructure and operations. \nTechnology Environment \nAWS (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3 and supporting services) \nKubernetes and Docker \nTerraform / Infrastructure as Code \nGitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tooling \nObservability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry) \nLinux and networking fundamentals \nWhat Success Looks Like \nEngineering teams deploy software faster with greater confidence. \nPlatform reliability and availability continue to improve. \nOperational toil is reduced through automation. \nCloud costs are optimised without compromising reliability. \nPlatform standards are adopted consistently across engineering teams. \nRequired Experience \n5+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE or DevOps. \nHands-on AWS experience in production environments. \nStrong Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting skills. \nExperience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. \nInfrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent. \nExperience operating production systems with high availability requirements. \nStrong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash or similar). \nExcellent communication skills and fluent English. \nNice to Have \nKafka or distributed event streaming platforms. \nService Mesh technologies. \nFinOps experience. \nSecurity hardening of cloud platforms. \nExperience with AI-powered engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot. \n\nWHY COGNISM\nAt Cognism, we’re not just building a company - we’re building an inclusive community of brilliant, diverse people who support, challenge, and inspire each other every day.
