The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing, including accessibility (508) compliance, functional validation, API testing, and security-focused quality assurance. This role works closely with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and accessible software products.\n\nThis is a remote position; however, Cognitive hires only in the following designated U.S. states based on contract and business requirements: VA, DC, MD, TN, FL, AZ, CO, OR, and TX.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCreate and maintain automated test suites and test cases to support continuous integration and delivery.\n\nConduct manual and automated testing of REST APIs and user interfaces.\n\nDevelop and enhance test-automation frameworks in Katalon and supporting tools (e.g., Groovy, Java) to increase efficiency and reliability.\n\nCan use AI to help create and update automation testing using Copilot.\n\nDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both web and mobile applications.\n\nPerform end-to-end testing, including functional, regression, integration, and accessibility (508) testing.\n\nCollaborate with developers, analysts, designers, and project managers to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality throughout the SDLC.\n\nIdentify, document, and track defects using standard issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).\n\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.\n\nEnsure testing practices align with security protocols and organizational standards.\n\nStay current on best practices and evolving trends in software QA, accessibility, and security.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n\n5+ years of software QA experience, including manual and automated testing.\n\nProficiency in automation scripting languages such as Groovy and Java, with the ability to design and maintain scalable, reusable test scripts.\n\nUnderstands and can adapt AI Copilot into automation test creation.\n\nExperience testing web and mobile applications.\n\nFamiliarity with REST API testing and tools such as Postman.\n\nProficiency in SQL and ability to validate data integrity.\n\nExperience with accessibility testing tools and standards (e.g., Lighthouse, Axe, JAWS, NVDA).\n\nStrong understanding of Agile development environments.\n\nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills.\n\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a
