For innovators who want to work at the intersection of breakthrough science, technology and human health, Cognito offers the chance to help shape what comes next.\nAbout the Job\nCognito Therapeutics, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our growing R&D team tasked with supporting the design and implementation of complex wearable electro-optical systems from concept to production. Responsible for specification, testing, and documentation of electronics from system to component level. Must work within project timelines to develop system requirements, prototype, test, debug, and release designs to production\nResponsibilities\nDesign, test, debug, and verify complex hardware using analog, digital, and power electronics circuits.\n\nTake ownership of electronic subsystems from component selection, circuit design, and prototype evaluation through system-level integration and design verification..\n\nInvestigate and implement component replacements for obsolete\n\nPerform, as well as lead technicians on, verification testing, debugging, and root cause\n\nProvide schedule and budget input to support project\n\nWork closely with systems, hardware, software, and mechanical engineers on new designs and design changes.\n\nContribute to electrical architecture decisions and design trade-off analyses for new product development.\n\nQualifications \nBSEE with 4-7 years of experience (or MSEE with eqiuvalent experience) in a highly regulated industry is required\n\nExperience working with EDA software for schematic design, PCB layout, and circuit simulation is required\n\nExperience designing for EMC is required\n\nExperience with battery management and low-power design for portable devices is preferred\n\nExperience with wearables, portable battery-operated products, and HDI and flex circuit technology is preferred\n\nExperience developing user interfaces, including display integration and switch design, is preferred\n\nExperience with IEC 60601-1 and other compliance standards preferred\n\nWorking knowledge of design controls and design history file documentation under ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820 is preferred\n\nExperience with embedded communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, and UART is preferred\n\nExperience with audio and optics is a plus\n\nProficiency with RF design is a big plus\n\nProficiency with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, and logic analyzers is required\n\nExperience leading discrete design efforts and mentoring junior engineers or technicians is preferred\n\nCompetitive Benefits\nTaking care of our own is one of our highest priorities.
