The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java-based automation framework development, modern automation tools, and manual testing practices, along with the ability to independently drive testing activities and collaborate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.\nIn this role, you will\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java and modern design principles.\nBuild and execute automated test suites for UI, API, and backend validation using Playwright and related technologies.\nLead end-to-end testing activities, including test planning, execution, defect management, and delivery ownership.\nManage test data and implement automation best practices to improve test efficiency and reliability.\nCollaborate closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality deliverables.\nProduce meaningful QA status reports, metrics, and quality dashboards for senior leadership.\nDrive functional discussions with business teams and contribute domain expertise within Insurance and/or Wealth Management.\nSupport CI/CD implementation and source code management using Git-based workflows.\nWork model\nWe believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.\nWhat you need to have to be considered\n7+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.\nMust have strong experience with Playwright for UI automation, API testing, and backend validation.\nMust have 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java-based automation framework development.\nStrong proficiency in Java, including Streams, Lambdas, Collections, and modern design patterns.\nSolid understanding of test data management and automation best practices.\nExperience with Git, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.\nWorking knowledge of Kafka, MongoDB, and AWS S3.\nStrong manual testing skills, including test design, execution, functional validation, and defect lifecycle management.\nExperience creating QA metrics, status reports, and executive-level quality updates.\nThese will help you stand out\nDomain knowledge in Insurance and/or Wealth Management is highly preferred.\nProven ability to lead testing efforts independently and drive deliverables to successful completion.\nExposure to enterprise-scale testing programs and digital transformation initiatives.\nWe're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 80,000 - 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications.
