We are looking for an experienced Playwright Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks using Selenium and Playwright. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in both tools and a strong background in test strategy, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering best practices.
In this role, you will
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright
- Build and enhance test automation frameworks (hybrid/data-driven/keyword-driven/POM)
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both frontend (UI) and backend (API, database) components.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Identify, log, and track defects; work closely with development teams to resolve issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics.

What you need to have to be considered:
- Overall 6+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing for banking projects.
- Must have 2+ years of strong hands-on experience with Playwright (Python).
- Experience in designing automation scripts /automation framework from scratch if needed.
- Strong programming skills in Python (for test scripting).
- Strong API testing experience using Postman or REST APIs.
- Experience with SQL for backend data validation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 60,000 - 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
