The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS networking services, hybrid cloud connectivity, multi-account architectures, and cloud security frameworks while driving highly available, scalable, and secure network connectivity solutions.\nThis role requires hands-on experience architecting large-scale AWS connectivity platforms, supporting multi-region deployments, hybrid integrations, and cloud network security initiatives for mission-critical business applications.\nSalary and Other Compensation:\nThe annual salary for this position is between $114,000 to $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.\nThis position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.\nIn this role, you will\nCloud Network Architecture & Design\nDesign and implement scalable multi-VPC architectures with optimized CIDR planning and address management to prevent overlap across AWS accounts and regions.\n\nArchitect and maintain hub-and-spoke network topologies leveraging AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) and AWS Cloud WAN.\n\nDevelop enterprise-wide connectivity strategies for multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and shared-services networking models.\n\nDesign and document scalable network architectures supporting business growth, compliance, and operational requirements.\n\nHybrid Cloud Connectivity\nConfigure and manage AWS Direct Connect solutions, including private VIFs, Link Aggregation Groups (LAGs), and resilient connectivity patterns.\n\nDesign hybrid cloud integration models utilizing Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs, and VPN failover architectures.\n\nDevelop highly available connectivity solutions between on-premises datacenters and AWS environments.\n\nAWS Routing & Traffic Management\nImplement advanced routing solutions using AWS Transit Gateway, VPC Peering, Route Tables, and route propagation controls.\n\nDesign and optimize cross-region connectivity strategies utilizing Transit Gateway peering and inter-region routing.\n\nEngineer resilient NAT Gateway architectures with Availability Zone-level failover and optimized egress routing patterns.\n\nEvaluate and implement inter-VPC communication models based on performance, scalability, and operational requirements.\n\nDNS & Service Connectivity\nDesign and administer advanced Route 53 solutions, including:\nPrivate Hosted Zones\n\nSplit-Horizon DNS\n\nConditional Forwarding\n\nHybrid DNS Integration\n\nImplement AWS Private Link (Interface and Gateway Endpoints) to enable secure private connectivity without public internet exposure.\n\nSecurity & Network Governance\nConfigure and manage AWS Network Firewall architectures, policies, rule groups, and inspection VPC frameworks.\n\nImplement layered network security controls using:\nSecurity Groups\n\nNetwork Access Control Lists (NACLs)\n\nAWS Network Firewall\n\nTraffic Segmentation Strategies\n\nEnforce least-privilege network access principles across cloud environments.\n\nCollaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to enterprise security standards.\n\nMonitoring, Troubleshooting & Optimization\nTroubleshoot complex network performance and latency issues using:\nVPC Flow Logs\n\nReachability Analyzer\n\nPacket Path Analysis\n\nTraffic Mirroring\n\nAnalyze traffic patterns and perform deep packet inspection for network optimization and security investigations.\n\nIdentify bottlenecks and implement performance improvement recommendations.\n\nSupport incident management and root-cause analysis activities.\n\nDocumentation & Governance\nDevelop comprehensive network architecture documentation, including:\nNetwork topology diagrams\n\nRoute flow mappings\n\nTraffic segmentation models\n\nHigh availability and failover designs\n\nMaintain architecture standards, best practices, and operational runbooks.\n\nParticipate in architecture reviews and cloud design governance activities.\n\nWhat you’ll need to succeed (required skills)\n8+ years of overall networking experience.\n\n5+ years of hands-on AWS networking and cloud connectivity experience.\n\nExperience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise cloud networking solutions.\n\nProven expertise implementing hybrid cloud networking architectures.\n\nTechnical Skills\nStrong expertise in:\nAWS Transit Gateway (TGW)\n\nAWS Cloud WAN\n\nAWS Direct Connect\n\nAWS VPN Services\n\nRoute 53\n\nAWS Private Link\n\nAWS Network Firewall\n\nVPC Design & Architecture\n\nMulti-Account AWS Networking\n\nDeep understanding of:\nTCP/IP Networking\n\nBGP Routing\n\nDNS Architecture\n\nHybrid Connectivity\n\nCloud Security Frameworks\n\nExperience with:\nAWS Organizations\n\nShared Services Architectures\n\nCross-Region Connectivity\n\nTraffic Analysis & Monitoring Tools\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAWS Certified Advanced Networking -
