The role requires strong hands-on expertise with HP NonStop, Guardian OS/OSS, Pathway, TMF, SQL/MP or SQL/MX, EMS, MEASURE, and PTrace.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience supporting highly available 24x7 production environments, troubleshooting complex platform issues, performing system administration and upgrades, conducting root cause analysis, and automating operational activities.\nSalary and Other Compensation:\nThe annual salary for this position is between $99,000 to $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.\nThis position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.\nIn this role, you will\n\nProvide L2/L3 production and infrastructure support for HP NonStop (Tandem) systems operating in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.\n\nInstall, configure, administer, maintain, patch, and upgrade HP NonStop Guardian and OSS operating environments and associated system components.\n\nMonitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability using tools such as EMS, MEASURE, and PTrace.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and production issues involving Pathway, TMF, Expand, SQL/MP, SQL/MX, Spooler, and batch-processing environments.\n\nPerform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.\n\nSupport the availability, fault tolerance, stability, and disaster resilience of HP NonStop platforms across multiple data centers.\n\nPartner with application teams on performance tuning, resource optimization, capacity considerations, and platform-specific troubleshooting.\n\nPlan and execute system changes, upgrades, patches, and deployments in accordance with established ITIL and CAB change-management processes.\n\nDevelop and maintain automation for recurring operational and administrative activities using TACL scripting, NetBatch, NSScheduler, and/or JAMS.\n\nParticipate in incident resolution, release activities, system upgrades, and project implementations in collaboration with network, database, infrastructure, and application development teams.\n\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, including operational procedures, runbooks, configuration baselines, troubleshooting guides, and system documentation.\n\nServe as an HP NonStop Subject Matter Expert (SME) during critical production incidents and complex technical troubleshooting.\n\nParticipate in on-call support and assist with restoring services during high-priority production incidents.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve operational stability, automation, system performance, and infrastructure support processes.\n\nWhat you’ll need to succeed (required skills)\n\n5+ years of hands-on experience with HP NonStop (Tandem) systems.\n\n5+ years of experience with Guardian OS and/or OSS administration and support.\n\nStrong hands-on knowledge of Pathway and TMF.\n\nStrong experience with SQL/MP and/or SQL/MX.\n\nExperience with HP NonStop monitoring and diagnostic tools, including EMS, MEASURE, and PTrace.\n\nExperience troubleshooting Expand, Spooler, batch-processing, and related NonStop subsystems.\n\nExperience supporting 24x7 production environments and handling critical production incidents.\n\nStrong understanding of high availability, fault-tolerant infrastructure, capacity management, and disaster resilience.\n\nExperience performing incident troubleshooting, problem management, and RCA.\n\nExperience with automation or scripting using TACL, with exposure to NetBatch, NSScheduler, and/or JAMS.\n\nUnderstanding of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management, including CAB-controlled production changes.\n\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nExperience supporting large-scale, business-critical HP NonStop environments.\n\nExperience supporting infrastructure distributed across multiple data centers.\n\nStrong experience with production performance analysis and capacity optimization.\n\nAbility to operate effectively during critical incidents and coordinate troubleshooting across multiple technical teams.\n\nExperience creating automation to reduce repetitive administrative and operational activities.\n\nBenefits: Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance\n\nPaid holidays plus Paid Time Off\n\n401(k) plan and contributions\n\nLong-term/Short-term Disability\n\nPaid Parental Leave\n\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan\n\nWork model:\nAt Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible, and we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
