Could it be you?\nAbout the role\nAs a Senior Consultant - Full Stack, you will make an impact by designing, building, and enhancing cloud-native applications that support the client's R&D organization. Operating at the intersection of science and technology, you will be a valued member of the R&D Technology Services team and work collaboratively with product owners, data experts, global engineering teams, and clients to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications across front-end and back-end systems, including modern microservice-based architectures, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs for enterprise platforms.\nContribute to system architecture, technical design, and engineering standards, and create detailed technical documentation including Low-Level Design (LLD), Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams, and component and class diagrams, while partnering with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nImplement infrastructure-as-code solutions, manage cloud environments, and build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and delivery, while implementing automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end) and ensuring applications meet security, compliance, and operational standards.\nIntegrate applications with enterprise R&D systems and scientific data platforms, build data pipelines supporting ingestion, transformation, and access, and enable interoperability using semantic data models and metadata standards.\nTake end-to-end ownership of features-from design through deployment-act as a technical contributor and mentor supporting junior engineers, influence stakeholders, drive improvements in development processes and architecture, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.\nConsistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead, which means operating with Personal Leadership (building trust, collaboration, and inclusion), Organizational Leadership (driving vision and purpose, demonstrating a strategic and enterprise mindset, and creating and communicating a bold direction that inspires purpose), and Business Leadership (exemplifying client focus, managing ambiguity with accountability and results, and operating with financial acumen).\nWork model\nWe believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.\nWhat you must have to be considered\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of software engineering experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.\nStrong experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript), hands-on experience building full-stack applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue), and designing/integrating REST APIs.\nHands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.), infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and a strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native design.\nExperience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Neptune), knowledge of data engineering pipelines (e.g., Spark, Databricks), and strong understanding of system design and data modeling.\nExperience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines, automated testing methodologies, Agile/Scrum environments, and strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical solutions to business impact.\nThese will help you succeed\nExperience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes/EKS) and AI-assisted development tools.\nExposure to clinical, scientific, or biomedical platforms and knowledge of GxP processes and regulated environments.\nExperience working with research scientists or domain experts.\nExperience with OutSystems, Power Apps, Salesforce, or similar low-code platforms.\nEmbodiment of the Cognizant Way to Lead: Leading Self, Leading Others, & Leading the Business.\nThe embodiment of Cognizant's Values of: Work as One, Dare to Innovate, Raise the Bar, Do The right Thing, & Own It.\nWe're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways.
