You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver innovative, secure, and high-quality solutions.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and modern front-end technologies including React.\nLead software solution delivery by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving best engineering practices across the team.\nCreate and maintain architecture and design artifacts while ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards for security, resiliency, and performance.\nLeverage enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and delivery while validating outputs through peer reviews and automated testing.\nAnalyze large and diverse datasets to identify trends, improve application performance, optimize system architecture, and enhance overall code quality.\nWork model ONSITE\nAt Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible, and we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.\nWhat you need to have to be considered\nStrong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented programming.\nExtensive experience building scalable applications using Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture.\nProven experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS (Amazon Web Services).\nStrong database development experience with Oracle and advanced SQL query optimization.\nExperience developing and consuming REST APIs in enterprise environments.\nExperience designing, debugging, and maintaining applications in large-scale corporate environments.\nKnowledge of React and modern front-end technologies.\nStrong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices.\nHands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, troubleshooting, and operational stability.\nAbility to independently own modules, drive technical discussions, and mentor junior team members.\nExperience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and validating AI-generated outputs for quality, performance, security, and compliance.\nThese will help you stand out\nExperience contributing to architecture decisions for complex distributed systems.\nKnowledge of AI-driven engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, model optimization, and responsible AI practices.\nExperience gathering, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets to drive engineering and operational improvements.\nActive participation in engineering communities, innovation programs, or emerging technology initiatives.\nExperience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives across multiple teams.\nBenefits: \nCognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance. \nPaid holidays plus Paid Time Off. \n401(k) plan and contributions. \nLong-term/Short-term Disability. \nPaid Parental Leave. \nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan.**Please note: A few of our roles may require in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project or client needs.**\n\nCompensation\nThe annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
