You will be a valued member of the API Core Engineering team and work collaboratively with other development teams across the Enterprise who adopt and consume our API gateway and frameworks.\nIn this role, you will\nServe as a technical authority across all phases of software development, including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of the API platform and tooling\n\nDevelop applications, frameworks, and tools for the API Core Engineering division to improve developer productivity and the SDLC process\n\nBuild software applications using Node.js technologies and related programming languages such as JavaScript or TypeScript, along with comprehensive unit tests\n\nDevelop CI/CD pipeline tools and frameworks using GitLab, Python, and shell scripts\n\nPartner with other development teams to support adoption of the API gateway and frameworks, resolving adoption and usage issues and answering consumer-team questions\n\nWork model\nAt Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.\nWhat you need to have to be considered\n3-5+ years of software development experience using Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript, including experience with Python and scripting languages\n\nExperience developing comprehensive unit tests using Jest, Mocha, Chai, or an equivalent testing framework\n\nHands-on experience building and operating services on public cloud (AWS strongly preferred), including designing and developing REST APIs or microservices with versioning, authentication/authorization, and documentation\n\nProven experience with DevOps toolchains, including GitLab (CI/CD), Terraform (IaC), Git-based workflows, and source version control such as Git\n\nStrong understanding of software architecture, reliability, performance, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing), paired with a strategic, hands-on problem-solving mindset\n\nThese will help you stand out\nExperience developing APIs with API Gateway support\n\nExperience working with Platform teams\n\nStrong cloud experience, with AWS certifications considered a significant plus\n\nWe're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways.
