You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver high-quality data products and modern data platforms.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, Python, and SQL.\nBuild and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions from multiple structured and semi-structured data sources.\nDevelop and manage Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, streams, tasks, stages, and stored procedures to support enterprise data initiatives.\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipelines through performance tuning, data quality controls, and production support best practices.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews, technical guidance, documentation, and CI/CD best practices.\nWork model\nAt Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible and are committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance through our wellbeing programs. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.\nWhat you need to have to be considered\n7+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, or related software engineering roles.\nStrong hands-on experience designing and developing solutions using Snowflake.\nAdvanced proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, API integration, and pipeline development.\nAdvanced SQL expertise, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization, and large-scale data processing.\nExperience building and supporting data pipelines using structured and semi-structured data formats such as CSV, JSON, Parquet, and XML.\nProven experience implementing data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, logging, and exception-handling frameworks.\nStrong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support capabilities.\nExperience with Git-based development practices and CI/CD deployment pipelines.\nWorking knowledge of Snowflake security concepts, including RBAC, roles, privileges, secure views, and data access controls.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.\nThese will help you stand out\nExperience working with Oracle, SQL Server, cloud storage platforms, and REST APIs.\nHands-on experience with Snowflake features such as Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, Stages, and warehouse optimization.\nExperience designing highly available, resilient, and performance-optimized data solutions in cloud environments.\nStrong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and enterprise data management best practices.\nExperience leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers, and driving adoption of engineering standards and best practices.\nWe're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways.
