The role will own the testing strategy, governance, delivery, and continuous improvement of data validation across modern cloud and legacy ecosystems. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of data pipelines with proven leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery assurance capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDefine and implement the overall test strategy, test plan, governance model, and quality standards for ETL and data platform programs.\nLead functional, integration, regression, system, performance, reconciliation, and user acceptance testing across the data lifecycle.\nManage test estimation, resource planning, scheduling, execution, defect management, reporting, and release-readiness assessments.\nEnsure source-to-target validation, transformation-rule verification, data completeness, accuracy, integrity, lineage, and reconciliation.\nCoordinate testing across Amazon Redshift, Fivetran, Databricks, dbt, SAS, and Oracle environments.\nPartner with data engineering, architecture, product, business, operations, and release teams to clarify requirements and mitigate quality risks.\nEstablish traceability between requirements, data mappings, test scenarios, test cases, defects, and business outcomes.\nDrive test automation and reusable validation frameworks for pipelines, transformations, and data-quality controls.\nLead defect triage, root-cause analysis, risk escalation, and resolution tracking with technical and business stakeholders.\nProvide clear quality dashboards and executive-level reporting on progress, coverage, defect trends, risks, dependencies, and release recommendations.\nCoach test leads and engineers, promote engineering best practices, and build a high-performing quality culture.\nRequired Technical Expertise:\nETL and data testing: Strong experience validating batch and incremental pipelines, complex transformations, dimensional models, data warehouses, and analytics datasets.\nAmazon Redshift: Proficiency in SQL-based validation, warehouse testing, performance considerations, and reconciliation of large datasets.\nFivetran: Experience testing managed connectors, schema replication, incremental loads, synchronization behaviour, and source-to-destination completeness.\nDatabricks: Hands-on knowledge of Lakehouse testing, notebooks, Spark-based processing, Delta tables, medallion architecture, and pipeline validation.\nDbt: Experience validating models, dependencies, tests, documentation, snapshots, incremental strategies, and deployment workflows.\nNiche platforms: Working knowledge of SAS and Oracle, including migration, coexistence, reconciliation, and modernization scenarios.\nSQL and data analysis: Advanced SQL skills with the ability to investigate complex data issues and validate high-volume datasets.\nAutomation and delivery: Familiarity with automated data-testing approaches, version control, CI/CD, test management, and defect-tracking tools.\nLeadership & Delivery Skills:\nProven ability to lead distributed and cross-functional testing teams across concurrent workstreams.\nStrong planning, prioritization, governance, risk management, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication, including concise reporting to senior stakeholders.\nAbility to translate business rules and data mappings into risk-based test coverage.\nStrong analytical mindset with disciplined problem-solving and attention to detail.\nComfort working in Agile, iterative, and hybrid delivery environments.\nQualifications & Experience:\nSubstantial experience in software quality assurance, including significant leadership responsibility in ETL, data warehouse, data lake, or analytics testing.\nDemonstrated ownership of testing for complex, multi-system data programs from planning through production release.\nExperience managing third-party partners, delivery dependencies, and senior stakeholder expectations is desirable.\nBenefits:\nJoining Cognizant will give you the opportunity to learn and collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry, while having your finger on the pulse of emerging industry trends and working on the cutting edge of technology in your field of expertise.\nWe recognize that our people perform at their best when they feel valued as significant contributors and that is why at Cognizant, taking care of our employees is a priority:\n· You can pursue innovative career tracks and opportunities here\n· You can enhance your professional development through education and dedicated training\n· We’ll give you the skills you need to keep pace with the changing workplace while our compensation, benefits and wellness packages help you stay healthy and plan for the future.\nNext Steps:\nPlease reach out to our friendly and welcoming team today to apply and register your interest in this full-time role.
