In this role, you will lead the technical analysis and design of complex healthcare interoperability solutions that enable seamless integration between the Cohere platform and payer, provider, and third-party systems. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Analytics, and external stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable integrations that improve the patient and provider experience.\nThis is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge healthcare technology, solve complex interoperability challenges, and directly influence the evolution of Cohere's integration platform while contributing to better patient outcomes.\nThis is a remote-first role that may require travel to Boston, MA for new hire onboarding and occasional in-person team meetings and company events.\nWhat you’ll do:\nServe as a subject-matter expert for healthcare interoperability and payer prior authorization integrations, leading the analysis and definition of data exchanges between the Cohere platform and payer, provider, and third-party systems\nLead client-facing integration discovery and requirements-gathering sessions, translating complex payer and provider workflows into clear technical specifications\nDesign scalable, reusable integration workflows using APIs, HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2, X12 EDI, SFTP, flat files, and other data-exchange methods\nProduce source-to-target mappings, interface specifications, data-flow diagrams, field definitions, validation rules, and error-handling requirements\nManage integration analysis across up to three concurrent client initiatives, tracking risks, dependencies, decisions, and open issues\nInvestigate integration failures and coordinate root-cause analysis across technical teams; review payloads, files, logs, and system behavior to resolve data-quality issues\nDevelop test scenarios and support unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, and production-readiness testing\nPartner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Solution Architecture, Implementation, and Client Success teams to deliver reliable client solutions\nSupport clients through implementation, activation, launch, and steady-state operations, serving as a trusted technical partner throughout\nProvide mentorship and guidance to less-experienced analysts, and contribute to improving integration standards, documentation, and delivery processes\nWhat you’ll need:\n5+ years of experience analyzing, defining, implementing, or supporting healthcare integrations, ideally including prior authorization experience\nExperience leading complex healthcare integration initiatives from discovery through testing and production readiness\nHands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, SFTP, and flat-file integration patterns\nExperience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR and HL7 v2 (X12 EDI a plus, not required)\nWorking knowledge of payer workflows such as prior authorization, eligibility, claims, provider data, or utilization management\nExperience creating source-to-target mappings, interface specifications, workflow diagrams, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria\nTechnical design experience, specifically around integration solutions\nStrong client-facing communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to both technical and nontechnical audiences\nAbility to manage multiple client initiatives in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements\nExperience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, product, implementation, and data teams\nPay & Perks:\nFully remote opportunity with about 10% travel\nMedical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program \n401K retirement plan with company match; flexible spending and health savings account \nFlex Time Off + company holidays\nUp to 14 weeks of paid parental leave \nPet insurance \nThe salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus.
