In this role, you will be designing, developing, testing, and supporting healthcare integration systems that connect Cohere Health with providers, payers, delegated entities, and third-party platforms. This is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise at the intersection of healthcare interoperability, APIs, and modern distributed systems.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSoftware Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable and scalable services that support critical business workflows and enterprise integrations.\nIntegration Solutions: Develop and maintain secure integrations with internal and external platforms, partners, and third-party systems.\nAPI Development: Build and support APIs and work with external APIs, data exchange protocols, and common integration patterns.\nDistributed Systems: Work with event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, and distributed systems to support reliable and scalable processing.\nCloud & Automation: Contribute to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and software delivery practices.\nQuality Engineering: Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and contribute to improving the team's testing frameworks and practices.\nOperational Excellence: Use monitoring, logging, metrics, and observability tools to troubleshoot issues and improve system reliability and performance.\nProduction Support: Troubleshoot and resolve integration and production issues and participate in on-call and operational support activities as needed.\nSecurity: Implement secure integrations using authentication, authorization, access control, and API security best practices.\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, operations, QA, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to deliver integration solutions.\nAgile Delivery: Participate in technical discussions, planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and delivery activities within an agile development environment.\nDocumentation & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to technical documentation and share knowledge and best practices across the team.\nContinuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve code quality, system reliability, engineering processes, and operational efficiency.\nWhat you’ll need:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.\n1-2 years of experience in software development building and supporting applications or services.\nExperience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or similar.\nHands-on experience with REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and common integration patterns.\nExperience writing unit and/or integration tests.\nFamiliarity with relational and/or non-relational databases and data modeling.\nUnderstanding of software development practices, version control, and CI/CD.\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams.\nUnderstanding of authentication, authorization, and secure API design.\nExperience building and supporting integrations with external APIs or third-party systems.\nExperience with event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, or distributed systems.\nExperience with automated integration or end-to-end testing frameworks.\nExperience with cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, or CI/CD pipeline design.\nExperience with observability, monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.\nExperience in healthcare technology, health plan operations, or prior authorization systems.\nFamiliarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR or other healthcare data exchange protocols.\nPay & Perks:\nFully remote opportunity with about 5% travel\nMedical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program \n401K retirement plan with company match; flexible spending and health savings account \nFlex Time Off + company holidays\nUp to 14 weeks of paid parental leave \nPet insurance \nThe salary range for this position is $94,000 to $110,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
