This is an opportunity to shape a growing, business-critical part of Cohere's platform and to grow the next generation of engineering leaders in health technology.\nThis is a remote-first role that may require travel to Boston, MA for new hire onboarding and occasional in-person team meetings and company events.\nWhat you’ll do:\nLead 20+ engineers across multiple agile squads (US and India) through dedicated technical leads\nOwn production reliability for Review-owned systems - incident response, root-cause RCAs, and cross-functional tiger teams for major incidents\nSet technical vision and provide leadership across design and sprint processes, partnering with Staff Engineers\nDrive delivery transparency through sprint metrics, catching risk early and informing data-driven interventions\nPartner with Product, Design, Security, Clinical Ops, and peer engineering teams (including our Hyderabad group) on shared systems and initiatives\nOwn hiring, leveling, and career growth for direct reports and their leads; help attract and retain top talent\nBuild a culture that grows early-career engineers into future health-tech leaders, with a bias toward team autonomy\nChampion testing, quality, and security practices in a regulated (HIPAA/SOC2) environment\nWhat you’ll need:\n5+ years managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment, including 3+ years leading multiple teams through technical leads or managers\nExperience leading distributed/multi-site teams across time zones (e.g. US/India), including partnering with groups outside your direct reporting line\nHands-on full-stack engineering background\nProven ability to own production systems and incident response, ideally in a regulated (healthcare, HIPAA/SOC2) environment\nStrong grounding in modern development practices (version control, unit testing, CI/CD)\nExperience designing and scaling distributed/microservices systems for high-throughput, high-growth products\nA passion for quality products and high-performing, autonomous teams\nBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering\nPay & Perks:\nFully remote opportunity with about 5% travel\nMedical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program \n401K retirement plan with company match; flexible spending and health savings account \nFlex Time Off + company holidays\nUp to 14 weeks of paid parental leave \nPet insurance \nThe salary range for this position is $185,000 to $225,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus.
