Community Operations Manager

Elyson | Katy, TX

$72,500-$82,500 + Comprehensive Benefits + 16 Paid Holidays

Hiring range based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Collaboration. Authenticity. Connection. Balance.

At Cohere, we believe community is the most valuable amenity.

We do more than manage communities-we help create places where people connect, belong, and thrive. By partnering with some of the nation's most innovative master-planned communities, we create places residents are proud to call home and where meaningful relationships flourish.

We're looking for a Community Operations Manager to join our team at Elyson, one of Texas' premier master-planned communities spanning more than 3,600 acres with growing neighborhoods, parks, amenities, recreation centers, pools, trails, green spaces, retail, and community gathering places. In this role, you'll lead the operational side of the community, with responsibility for facilities, amenities, maintenance, vendors, community assets, governance support, and the systems and processes that keep a large, growing community running well.

This is an opportunity to bring proven operational leadership to a complex and highly active community, strengthen how work gets done, protect the physical and financial health of community assets, and partner with residents, Board members, developers, vendors, and the broader Cohere team to create an exceptional community experience.

If you’re someone who is organized, proactive, experienced, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment-and who knows how to balance accountability, hospitality, strong relationships, and getting things done-we’d love to meet you.

Why People Choose Cohere

The best communities are built by people who feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work. That's why we invest in benefits, time away, and professional growth that help our team members thrive both personally and professionally.

Highlights Include:

  • Medical coverage available on your first day
  • Employer-paid dental coverage
  • Vision coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Employer-paid Life Insurance, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability coverage
  • Pet insurance options
  • Employee Assistance Program with mental health, financial, legal, and family support resources
  • Travel assistance and identity theft protection
  • Complimentary will preparation services
  • Generous paid time off
  • 16 paid holidays each year, including a Birthday Day and Volunteer Day, in addition to PTO
  • Professional development and growth opportunities

What You’ll Do

Lead Community Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational needs of Elyson, including facilities, amenities, parks, pools, landscaping, and other community assets.
  • Lead preventive maintenance efforts and ensure repairs, recurring maintenance needs, and service concerns are tracked through resolution.
  • Manage operational calendars, special projects, inspections, and other activities that keep the community running smoothly.
  • Respond to community concerns with strong follow-through, coordinating the right internal or external resources and maintaining clear documentation.

Manage Vendors, Assets & Risk

  • Vet vendors, service providers, and contractors and manage bid, selection, and performance processes.
  • Conduct routine community inspections to identify maintenance needs, operational issues, and potential risks.
  • Oversee daily maintenance and long-term care of community assets, including landscaping, pools, and similar facilities.
  • Monitor vendor and contractor performance, address service gaps, and recommend improvements to quality, efficiency, and cost control.

Support Governance & Financial Stewardship

  • Support Board and community meetings through reporting, presentations, documentation, and operational updates.
  • Maintain working knowledge of governing documents, community guidelines, covenant accountability, and architectural processes.
  • Review and understand financial statements, budgets, and expenses and be comfortable presenting financial information and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate association records and ensure operational documentation is organized, current, and accessible.

Build Strong Community Partnerships

  • Partner with residents, Board members, committees, developers, commercial owners, vendors, and other stakeholders to address concerns and build trust.
  • Communicate difficult information clearly and professionally while helping stakeholders understand options, expectations, and next steps.
  • Encourage constructive dialogue and collaboration when priorities or perspectives differ.
  • Help create a community experience where residents feel welcomed, heard, valued, and connected.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience leading facilities, parks and recreation, large-scale master-planned community operations, or a closely related operational environment.
  • Proven experience overseeing facilities, amenities, maintenance, vendors, contractors, or other physical assets.
  • Experience building structure, processes, and systems within a complex or fast-moving operation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, create accountability, and develop others.
  • Strong financial understanding, including budgets, financial statements, expense management, and operational planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the judgment to handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • Community association management experience preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for meetings, events, or operational needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for off-site programs, meetings, or business needs.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be on foot for extended periods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
