This includes requesting quotes, negotiating pricing, PO entry/revisions, expediting and returns. Purchase orders to be placed timely and accurately.\nResponsible for 10% of the total budgeted cost savings for the Coherent Optical Solutions BU, including interaction with Coherent Singapore and Philippines.\nWork to negotiate best pricing, challenge all price increases and track purchased cost savings. Investigate alternative sources of supply to achieve price savings.\nWork with the quality and engineering departments to identify new critical sources and help with the qualification process.\nObtain appropriate internal approvals for all requisitions/purchase orders to comply with Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Obtain purchase order confirmations from the suppliers and update the ERP system accordingly.\nDetermine purchase quantities based on analysis of purchase history, current inventory levels, price breaks, lot size, lead-time and demand. \nResponsible for processing returns for rejected material and obtaining corrective action using SCARs - Supplier Corrective Action Requests.\nObtain quotations and negotiate pricing for new materials. Comply with the regulations for ITAR drawings. Quotes to be completed timely and accurately.\nCoordinate Saxonburg supplier visits to negotiate pricing, review performance and to keep informed of pricing and lead-time trends as well as new products. Visit supplier facilities as required. \nSupply vendors with correct drawings/revisions and specifications.\nResponsible for providing various departments with purchasing support for materials and services including capital equipment.\nResponsible for manually monitoring consumable supplies inventories. Responsible for negotiating pricing, purchasing, tracking, expediting/rescheduling of consumable supplies based on usage by various departments.\nSupport other Coherent divisions/BUs as needed.\nProcess reports for purchases, receipts, open POs, etc.\nCompliance with ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions.\nComply with trade compliance import procedures for any material purchased from foreign suppliers and determine HTS codes as needed.\nProvides input on purchasing policies and procedures. Works with IT and other personnel to improve the ERP purchasing processes.\nProvide assistance to the Procurement Manager on various projects and tasks.\nSome travel is required.\nAttend all training as required. \nEducation & Experience\nMinimum bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or an equivalent degree.\n\nSKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS\nExcellent negotiating skills.\nWell-developed organizational and time management skills to achieve a high level of productivity. \nStrong communication skills with internal customers and external suppliers.\nAdvanced computer skills that include Microsoft Office Suite products.\nExperience with manufacturing ERP systems.\nExperience with quality systems including ISO 9001.\nAbility to read and understand drawing specifications.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nHigh Standards for ethics and professionalism.\nExperienced with procurement processes that include quoting, price negotiation, issuing purchase orders, expediting.\nAbility to maintain current market information for commodities of responsibility to ensure that Coherent’s prices remain competitive.\nExperience in Supplier Development, Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier negotiations.\nAdherence to policies and develop best practices to achieve efficiency and cost reduction.\nDue to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).\nWorking Conditions\nFast paced office environment that relies on heavy use of computers with minimal supervision.\nSafety Requirements\nAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
