This role will also have direct oversight to several key strategic suppliers in the Western U.S. This role will serve as the critical link between business demand, supply chain strategy, manufacturing operations, engineering, procurement, quality, and external manufacturing partners to ensure successful execution of Coherent's aggressive growth objectives.\nThe Director will establish and lead integrated planning, capacity expansion, manufacturing transfer, and operational readiness programs that enable scalable growth across the contract manufacturing ecosystem. Success in this role requires strong leadership in SIOP/IBP, supply chain transformation, factory ramp-up, capacity planning, executive communication, and cross-functional decision-making within complex global manufacturing environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nContract Manufacturing Growth & Strategy\nDevelop and execute the operational roadmap supporting rapid expansion of Southeast Asia contract manufacturing partners.\nLead strategic planning efforts to ensure contract manufacturers can meet future demand, capacity, quality, and delivery requirements.\nPartner with global operations and business leaders to translate growth forecasts into executable manufacturing strategies.\nBuild scalable governance models supporting contract manufacturer performance and operational maturity.\nIntegrated Business Planning (IBP/SIOP)\nOwn the integrated planning process connecting customer demand, supply availability, manufacturing capacity, inventory, financial objectives, and delivery commitments.\nLead executive SIOP reviews and facilitate cross-functional decision-making related to capacity constraints, supply risks, inventory strategies, and production priorities.\nDrive scenario planning to support business growth, risk mitigation, and capital investment decisions.\nDevelop capacity and resource planning models supporting long-range growth forecasts.\nFactory Expansion, Transfers & Production Ramps\nLead manufacturing transfer and factory ramp-up programs supporting capacity expansion and business continuity.\nCoordinate operational readiness activities across supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, quality, procurement, and finance.\nDevelop and execute strategies to support new product introductions and technology transfers into contract manufacturing environments.\nEnsure successful transition of production while maintaining customer commitments and operational performance.\nSupply Chain & Operational Excellence\nEstablish KPI-driven management systems focused on delivery performance, inventory health, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and operational readiness.\nDrive improvements in planning processes, MRP health, master scheduling, and supply-demand balancing.\nImplement dashboarding and reporting tools that improve visibility and decision-making across the manufacturing network.\nLead initiatives that improve supply chain resiliency, responsiveness, and scalability.\nContract Manufacturer Engagement\nServe as executive liaison for strategic contract manufacturing partners throughout Southeast Asia.\nConduct regular business reviews focused on operational performance, growth readiness, continuous improvement, and risk management.\nDrive accountability for commitments across both internal teams and external partners.\nFacilitate rapid resolution of operational constraints impacting customer delivery or factory performance.\nLeadership & Organizational Development\nBuild and develop a high-performing program management and planning organization.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence.\nInfluence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership and global operations teams.\nLead organizational change initiatives necessary to support continued growth and transformation.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.\n12+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, integrated planning, manufacturing operations, or program management.\nDeep experience leading SIOP, IBP, demand planning, supply planning, capacity planning, and inventory strategy processes.\nProven success supporting manufacturing transfers, factory expansions, production ramp-ups, or site transitions.\nExperience working with global contract manufacturers and outsourced manufacturing operations.\nDemonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional programs across Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Quality.\nStrong executive communication and stakeholder management capabilities.\nExperience leading global teams across multiple regions and cultures.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMBA or advanced technical degree.\nExperience within photonics, semiconductors, aerospace & defense, electronics manufacturing, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.\nExperience with SAP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, Power BI, or similar planning and analytics platforms.\nExperience in AS9100, ISO, or highly controlled manufacturing environments.\nPMP, APICS, or equivalent certification.\nKey Competencies\nSIOP / IBP
