This role is ideal for candidates with experience in laboratory operations, manufacturing, materials processing, engineering support, or technical production environments who enjoy working with precision equipment, data collection, and process-driven manufacturing. Shift C (Day shift 12 hours): Wed - Sat, alternating Wednesdays off. approximately times of 5:30am-6:00pm. Training for this position will take place at our Hillsborough, NJ facility and will last approximately 6 to 9 months. Must be prepared to work 1 to 6 weeks Mon-Friday for training purposes. Shift timings may change to adjust to production necessities. At the conclusion of the training period this position will transfer full-time to our Easton, PA facility. We will offer supplemental compensation during training and commute time between sites.\nKEY FUNCTIONS OF JOB\nRecording and monitoring temperatures of furnaces\nWeighing chemicals for additions and new melts\nMounting and etching substrates\nLoading and dipping wafers into furnaces\nProgramming and terminating growth cycles\nMeasuring weight/thickness/warp of wafers accurately\nPerforming some data analysis\nPrepping furnaces for new melts\nEntering data using Access\nMinor troubleshooting of furnace system/software\nHandling of acids\nSupport other production processes as needed\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nEducation:\n\nMinimum: HS diploma or equivalent\nPreferred: Associate degree in a technical/engineering/scientific field\nExperience:\n\nMinimum 2+ years’ experience working in a technical, scientific, or mechanical field.\nExperience working in a laboratory environment and following good lab practices.\nExperience working with precision measurement methods and systems.\nExperience with PC based computers for programming LPE systems.\nIntermediate or higher level with Excel, Word, and Access.\nExperience with Oracle is a plus.\nExperience working with fixtures, hand tools, and equipment controllers is a plus.\nComfortable working with chemicals, acids, and a high temperature environment.\nDemonstrate the ability to read and follow directions while offering suggestions for continuous improvement.\nITAR/EAR and Other Requirements\nMust be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual).\n\nSafety Requirements\nAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
