Perform 6S, process, training audits as required.\nPrimary Duties & Responsibilities\nThis is a full-time position that alternates weekly between 3x12 (Friday - Sunday, 6 am - 6 pm) and 4x12 (Thursday - Sunday, 6 am - 6 pm) schedules. Initial training (first 1-3 months) takes place on 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm)\nSupervise and measure day-to-day production activities with focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost.\nCommunicate production priorities to operators and technicians. \nEnsure personnel are punctual and maintain attendance & timekeeping records. \nMake weekly payroll entries (Kronos timekeeping system). \nEnforce company policies and fairly apply existing labor contracts to all matters of discipline or attendance. \nEnsure personnel maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment. \nCommunicate equipment, safety, process related issues to the appropriate staff as required. \nReview thermal processing equipment to ensure critical process parameters are met. \nRead, comprehend all relevant work instructions to ensure personnel are accomplishing production processes to established standards. \nPerform Skills Audits to make sure training is accurate and successful. \nPerform 6S, process, training audits as required.\nResponsible for production staff and workflow.\nLead and manage 12-20 hourly employees in multiple departments\nEducation & Experience\nAssociates Degree in technical field, B.A./B.S. preferred. Relevant experience can be considered as substitute for degree. Minimum 5 yr. experience supervising employees. Experience with Lean Manufacturing.\nSkills\nExhibits sound judgment in choosing among multiple priorities\nUnderstanding of safe work environments\nWorks well with employees at all levels\nLeadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others\nSupervision: including employee hiring and retention, performance review, coaching, counseling and corrective action\nQuality orientation and high attention to detail\nProblem analysis and resolution\nUnderstanding of inventory management experience with ERP and MES systems\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nStrong team player\nAbility to understand, assimilate and react to new processes and changes\nAbility to handle multiple priorities and issues in a fast paced, dynamic environment\nAbility to work with employees in a multi-cultural, global team environment\nAble to execute plans, motivate and engage the workforce, evaluate work accomplishments and provide effective feedback\nDue to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)\nWorking Conditions\nAbility to stand and walk the production floor for ~11 hours per day.\nRotating schedule of Friday-Sunday 6:00 AM-6:00 PM and working every other Thursday\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk the production floor for ~11 hours per day. Drive fork truck and lift up to 50lbs occasionally.\nSafety Requirements\nAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
