This role sets up and utilizes specialized equipment to precision finish our unique materials. This is a 1st Shift position - 7:00am - 3:30PM, M-F. OT as needed\nPrimary Duties & Responsibilities\nExecute key phases of semiconductor wafer chuck manufacturing processes, but not limited to, precision lapping, ultrasonic cleaning, and relevant inspection including interferometry. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and other documentation\nEnsure equipment is compatible with product specifications\nOn-going training of departmental personnel in a variety of technical issues\nInterface with Engineers and with employees from other departments within the Company\nMaintain a safe, clean and organized work environment\nContinuously focus on driving initiatives to eliminate waste\nFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions\nFollow all applicable Quality systems and initiatives\nPerform all other duties, as assigned\nEducation & Experience\n2+ years relative experience in high-precision manufacturing environment\n2-year technical degree desirable\nExperience in ultrasonic cleaning, lapping equipment, interferometer equipment, precision measuring equipment, and clean room operations\nExperience in optical lapping\nExperience with precision measurement methods and systems\nExperience with manufacturing process improvement initiatives\nExperience with networked PC based computer system (spreadsheets, Email, MRP systems)\nSkills\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and process procedures\nDemonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement\nGood manual dexterity\nFine motor skills - able to manipulate small components\nClean and organized \nPatient and conscientious\nMetrology: Skilled in the use of hand and electronic gauging (inspection less than .0001 inches) and other electronic equipment\nAble to get along well with others\nAble to work overtime, as required\nAbility to work in a cross-cultural, team based environment\nGood interpersonal and communication skills\nWorking Conditions\nNewtown, CT facility\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to frequently lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds\nAble to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility\nWalking/standing a minimum of 8 hours per day\nAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
