They build.\nAs a Software Engineering Intern, you'll join a highly collaborative engineering team working on products that protect and manage exabytes of customer data worldwide. From day one, you'll contribute to meaningful technical projects that directly impact production systems used by some of the world's largest organizations.\nYou'll collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, and mentors to design, develop, test, and deliver scalable solutions across our cloud, platform, infrastructure, security, and data management products while gaining hands-on experience with modern distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and the full software development lifecycle.\nHOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy software components that support Cohesity's enterprise data security and management platform \nContribute to production-quality code using modern engineering best practices \nCollaborate with engineers, product managers, and architects to solve complex technical challenges \nWork on large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native services, storage technologies, cybersecurity solutions, or platform infrastructure \nParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and technical brainstorming sessions \nAnalyze system performance and help improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency \nBuild tooling, automation, or product features that create measurable impact for customers \nPresent your final project and accomplishments to engineering leaders and executives at the conclusion of the internship \nWE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:\nCurrently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline\nExpected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028\nStrong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including Data Structures, Algorithms, and Systems Design \nExperience developing software through coursework, research, internships, open-source contributions, or personal projects \nProficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, Java, or Python \nFamiliarity with software development tools, version control systems, and Linux/Unix environments \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills \nIntellectual curiosity, passion for technology, and enthusiasm for solving complex technical challenges \nWE ARE EXTRA EXCITED IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:\nCoursework, project experience, or exposure to one or more of the following areas: \nDistributed systems and large-scale software architecture \nNetworking, systems programming, or operating systems \nConcurrent or asynchronous programming \nCloud computing and containerized environments \nData security, cryptography, ransomware protection, or secure coding practices \nExperience with technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools \nParticipation in research projects, hackathons, open-source contributions, technical clubs, or previous internships \nExposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or emerging technologies through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN:\nHow production-scale distributed systems are designed and operated \nModern software engineering best practices and development workflows \nHow cloud-native technologies power enterprise software platforms \nHow cross-functional engineering teams collaborate to deliver products used by global customers \nHow AI and cybersecurity are shaping the future of data protection \nTEAM MATCHING\nSoftware Engineering Interns are hired into a general talent pool and matched with a team during the recruitment process.
