Performs other related duties as assigned.\nInterprets engineering drawings and schematic diagrams, and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.\nSelects products for inspection/verification at specified stages in production process; and inspects/verifies products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.\nRecords inspection/verification data applying statistical quality control procedures.\nGenerates APQP and PPAP documentation.\nReviews and understands customer requirements including PO’s, drawings, and specifications. Compares requirements with Sur-Seal quotes, capabilities and processes to identify discrepancies.\nEvaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.\nCalibrates and maintains measuring and inspection equipment per established procedures.\nReviews and maintains raw material certifications.\nRecommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.\nPrepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.\nQUALITY STANDARDS\nAbility to define and distinguish between quality standards, requirements, and specifications with the goal of meeting the customer’s specified requirements.\nAbility to read and interpret drawings and ensure requirements are appropriately applied to the method of manufacturing including inspection activities.\nHave a basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance such as symbols, location, and profile.\nAbility to determine what measurement instruments are required for various inspection point functions such as receiving, in-process, final, source, first article, etc.\nQualifications\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\n5 - 10 years related experience\nREASONING ABILITY and MATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to define and solve problems by utilizing various Root Cause Analysis tools (8D, fishbone, 5 Whys).\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
