This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for both technical execution and oversight of multiple concurrent migration efforts, including solution design, implementation, team leadership, and client engagement. The role requires deep expertise in database technologies and cloud architecture, along with the ability to lead teams, define strategy, and ensure successful delivery of complex migration programs.\nLeadership & Oversight Responsibilities:\nLead and manage multiple concurrent database migration projects and technical teams.\nProvide technical leadership and architectural guidance across migration initiatives.\nServe as the primary escalation point for complex technical and data-related challenges.\nDrive client engagement, including stakeholder communication, issue resolution, and decision-making.\nDefine and enforce migration standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.\nMentor and coach team members, including conducting code and design reviews.\nManage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery commitments.\nHands-On Technical Responsibilities:\nDesign and implement complex database migration solutions from SQL Server to Oracle.\nPerform hands-on refactoring of SQL code, stored procedures, and database packages.\nLead conversion of database-resident business logic into application-layer services (e.g., Java-based APIs).\nTroubleshoot and resolve high-impact technical and data-related migration issues.\nExecute and oversee data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning.\nPrototype and validate migration approaches for complex scenarios.\nYOUR EXPERIENCE.\nThe successful candidate will have:\n7-10+ years of experience working with relational database systems.\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on database development experience.\n2-4 years of experience leading technical teams or managing projects.\nExperience with on-premise to cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.\nStrong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) and Oracle Database (SQL/PLSQL).\nDeep understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.\nExperience defining and implementing migration strategies and architectural patterns.\nKnowledge of cloud architecture constraints, including security, connectivity, and service design.\nExperience with API-based integrations, service-oriented architecture, and middleware.\nAbility to review, guide, and approve complex technical implementations.\nStrong experience with data migration, validation, and reconciliation processes and strategies.\nWorking knowledge of Java for application-layer service development.\nExperience with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud (OCI), AWS, or Azure.\nFamiliarity with microservices architecture and API-driven integration patterns.\nExperience with migration tools, ETL frameworks, or data pipelines.\nPrior consulting or client-facing leadership experience.\nIn addition, please take a moment to review our Universal Job Standards.\nStudies have shown that we are less likely to apply to jobs unless we meet every single qualification. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
