In this role, you will act as a systems-level expert for the engineering team.\nImpact You Will Make\nConduct system-level requirement analysis and author technical specifications and design briefs for sub-assembly modules.\nLead the evaluation and selection of technical concepts in collaboration with domain experts, based on functional, economic, and risk criteria.\nEnsure architectural consistency and interface compatibility across subsystems and modules.\nGuide the development of subsystem concepts and validate their feasibility through analytical modeling and simulation.\nFacilitate design reviews and ensure that development progress aligns with system-level objectives.\nDrive risk assessments and initiate necessary pre-development or technology validation activities.\nEnsure compliance with certification requirements (e.g., CE, SEMI, RoHS) and support the prepara-tion of documentation.\nSupport patent applications and the protection of intellectual property arising from system innova-tions.\nPresent technical solutions and resolve system-level issues in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.\nDesign detailed parts and assemblies as part of the overall system architecture/plan.\nAny additional tasks and responsibilities, commensurate with knowledge, skills, and abilities, as re-quired by the business.\nOur Ideal Candidate\nBachelor’s degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. ((PhD, MSc, MEng, etc. desired)\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in the system level leadership of the development of complex mechatronic systems, ideally in semiconductor backend equipment.\nMinimum of 5 years as a direct engineer in a discipline.\nProven track record in system engineering, machine concept development, and cross-functional en-gineering leadership.\nUnderstanding and/or working experience with thermal systems, motion control, sensor integration, and machine intelligence.\nExperience with requirement engineering, risk management, and certification processes.\nFluent in SolidWorks detailed design and modeling, or other design tools such as Altium, if relevant to education and experience.\nStrong knowledge of modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink), CAE, and system simulation.\nExcellent English communication skills: German and/or French is a plus.\nWillingness to travel internationally up to 20%.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt Cohu Malaysia, we offer a collaborative work environment that fosters growth, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
