Coinbase One is Coinbase's subscription membership product, offering a suite of premium benefits that supercharge the Coinbase experience for paying members. You'll own the backend systems that power the membership lifecycle, from sign-up and payment processing to benefit delivery and targeted promotions, directly driving subscriber growth and retention for millions of customers.\nWhat you'll do:\nOwn the design, development, and operation of backend services powering the Coinbase One membership lifecycle, including sign-up flows, subscription management, and recurring payment processing\nBuild scalable platform capabilities that enable targeted benefit delivery, promotional incentives, and personalized membership experiences across the Coinbase retail application\nPartner with frontend, product, design, and payments teams to scope, ship, and iterate on customer-facing membership features from concept through production\nDrive backend architecture decisions for the Coinbase One product area, establishing patterns for reliability, extensibility, and integration with broader Coinbase platform services\nImprove service reliability, observability, and performance across Coinbase One's backend stack, proactively identifying and resolving production issues\nRequired Skills and Experience:\n5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with a track record of shipping and operating production services at scale\nDemonstrated experience building subscription, payments, or commerce systems, including recurring billing, entitlements, or promotional logic\nProficiency in Go or a similar backend systems language (Java, C++, Rust) with demonstrated ability to adapt to a Go-centric codebase\nProven ability to design and maintain APIs and distributed systems that integrate across multiple product surfaces (web and mobile)\nTrack record of taking ambiguous projects from scoping through production with minimal oversight, including cross-functional collaboration with product and design partners\nUtilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.\nPay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below).
