This role requires strong technical accounting judgment and the ability to independently manage digital asset reconciliations, revenue accounting, intercompany eliminations, and financial close processes. The Senior Accountant (CPA) will lead audit support efforts, apply international accounting standards to foreign business units, and serve as a subject matter resource for junior staff. CoinFlip operates as a licensed money services business, and this role supports compliance with related financial reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions.\nResponsibilities:\nCrypto Accounting & Digital Asset Management\nPrepare and maintain monthly rollforwards for BTC, ETH, LTC, and other supported digital assets.\nReconcile wallet balances to blockchain data and internal subledgers.\nPerform wallet data cleanup, validation, and exception resolution.\nPerform fair market value (FMV) calculations and remeasurements for digital asset holdings.\nSupport position checks and proof-of-reserves style reconciliations.\nRecord and reconcile hardware wallet activity, including Trezor and cold storage.\nProcess and account for crypto donations, rewards, and incentives.\nOwn accounting and reconciliation of international digital asset activity.\nRevenue, Cost & Operational Accounting\nCalculate kiosk cost of sales (COS), fees, and related margin analysis.\nAnalyze transaction fees, spreads, and service-level profitability.\nReconcile liquidity provider balances, fees, and settlements.\nAnalyze and document revenue recognition for new business lines under ASC 606.\nLead transfer pricing calculations and intercompany crypto activity.\nDesign and implement intercompany due to/due from accounting schedules for reconciliation and elimination.\nLearn and apply relevant international accounting rules for foreign business units.\nCollaborate with international operations teams to implement accounting and finance practices in new markets.\nCoordinate with international CPAs to complete month-end close for foreign entities.\nFinancial Close & Reporting\nPrepare and post journal entries; lead or support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.\nPrepare general ledger account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.\nMaintain and reconcile fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.\nLead flux analysis and variance explanations for management review.\nObtain and analyze data from multiple sources to develop schedules used as support documents for month-end close.\nPrepare financial reporting schedules and audit support packages for internal and external auditors.\nAssist the Financial Reporting Manager in preparation of financial statements and other internal reporting.\nProcess Improvement & Documentation\nIdentify automation and efficiency opportunities across accounting workflows.\nDevelop and maintain SOPs and process documentation for accurate and timely financial reporting.\nUtilize data visualization and business intelligence tools to improve process efficiency.\nSupport system implementations, enhancements, and testing (including NetSuite).\nProvide training and guidance to junior staff and cross-functional teams.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nCPA licensed (required).\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.\n3+ years of industry or public accounting experience.\nFundamental understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain (required).\nHighly proficient in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of NetSuite or comparable ERP.\nExperience with or strong interest in data/BI tools such as Tableau or Alteryx.\nStrong command of GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and international accounting standards.\nIntellectually curious with a demonstrated ability to improve and implement processes.\nSelf-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.\nNice to Have:\nExperience with Alteryx, Tableau, or similar data tools.\nBackground in MSB, fintech, or regulated financial services environments.\nFamiliarity with state regulatory examination response processes or multi-jurisdictional reporting.\nExperience supporting external audits under international frameworks (e.g., Corporations Act / ASIC obligations).\nGeneral passion for fintech and the cryptocurrency industry.\nCompensation:\nAnnual Base Salary: $24,000-$40,000 USD\nWorking at CoinFlip means collaborating with experienced and innovative leaders who share a clear vision and a track record of success.
