{"id":3411555,"url":"https://alion.io/job/coldspring-polish-machine-operator-weekends","title":"Polish Machine Operator - Weekends","company":{"id":2645729,"name":"Coldspring","domain":"coldspringusa.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/coldspringusa","size_band":"501-1000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Paylocity","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Cold Spring, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":39000,"max_usd":87000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":19516},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Oracle ERP","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-28T13:09:43Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-28","last_verified_at":"2026-11-04T11:31:33Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":6,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":6},"description":"Description\nStatus: This is a full-time; hourly position\nHours: Friday - Sunday: 9am - 9:30pm; overtime as needed\nBenefits Offered to Full-time Employees: Health, Dental, Optical, Medical FSA/HSA, Dependent Care (FSA), Basic Life Plan, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, 401K with Company Match, Profit Sharing (ROA), PTO (Vacation), Holidays, Jury Duty, and Funeral Leave\n ** Weekend positions earn a $4.50 shift differential ** Weekend positions are also eligible for a hiring bonus, see below for details\nJOB SUMMARY: The Polish Machine Operator is responsible for loading, set up, operation and unloading the polish machine to apply top or edge polishing to a variety of granite products per production ticket requirements.\nWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:\nUse tape measure, square, straight edge and/or level to verify slab length, width, flatness and squareness; dimensions are verified multiple times during the production process.\nLoad and unload granite products into the polish machine with an overhead crane; smaller pieces may be loaded into the machine by hand.\nAlign and square stone to the polish machine as needed.\nClamp small stones to larger stones as needed to prevent movement during polishing process.\nSet up and operate the automated polish machine to process the correct sequence of polishing bricks to the stone to achieve the correct finish; bricks range from coarse to fine and finishes include Antique, Hone, Diamond Varieties, Pacific, Polish, Shot Sawn, Smooth, Textured, Thermal, Velvet, etc.\nInspect stone for general and job specific acceptance of stone tolerance, quality and appearance criteria; use gloss meter when necessary.\nMonitor the polish machines during operation to adjust line speed for optimal performance.\nTouch up and detail work using a variety of hand and air tools.\nLayout stone to indicate work segment cuts for the saws per production ticket specifications, yielding the maximum use of stone.\nScan production ticket to record work performed in the JDE system; match ticket with correct stone when work is complete.\nChange bricks on polishing heads as needed based on finish type or wear to the bricks.\nInspect the integrity of the polish heads and bricks multiple times during the work shift.\nRequirements\nMust obtain forklift certification (training and certification provided by Coldspring for all employees who may be required to operate a forklift).\nGeneral knowledge of software used to program CNC, milling and/or turning machines, i.e. 3D modeling, CAD and/or CAM software.\nAbility to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.\nAbility to work independently, with little or no supervision.\nExcellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.\nMechanically inclined.\nGeneral math skills.\nMust be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.\nAbility to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.\nWork as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.\n . HIRING BONUS REQUIREMENTS/DETAILS: 1. The candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements (drug test, onboarding). 2.
