{"id":3596110,"url":"https://alion.io/job/coliban-water-operator","title":"Operator","company":{"id":2590336,"name":"Coliban Water","domain":"coliban.com.au","url":"https://alion.io/company/coliban","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"ELMO","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Bendigo, Australia"],"countries":["AU"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":43000,"max_usd":74000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":178},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-11-02T03:57:07Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-11-02","last_verified_at":"2026-11-07T10:58:18Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":5,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":5},"description":"Overview of role:\nColiban Water are expanding frontline operations and we’re seeking a safety focussed Operator who is responsible for undertaking the operation, maintenance, repair and renewal of water, sewer and recycled water service connection assets.\nWorking at times with and without guidance and onsite supervision, the role delivers field-based operational activities to ensure safe, reliable and compliant services are provided to customers.\nThe position is hands-on and contributes to the efficient delivery of maintenance, customer connection works, fault response and emergency repairs across Coliban Water's service region.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCustomer Connection Operations\nUndertake the installation, maintenance, repair and renewal of water, sewer and recycled water service connections. \nRespond to planned and reactive maintenance activities, including customer service faults, leaks, blockages and damaged assets. \nOperate and maintain valves, hydrants, meters and associated connection infrastructure. \nSafely operate plant such as hydro truck, excavators and high-pressure jetting equipment, other items of equipment, tools and vehicles required to undertake field activities. \nComplete work orders and record operational activities accurately using Coliban Water systems.\nRequired to participate in standby and after-hours rosters as required.\nAsset Inspection and Maintenance\nInspect customer connection assets to identify defects, deterioration and operational issues. \nUndertake preventative and reactive maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance programs. \nPerform minor civil works including excavation, reinstatement and site restoration. \nReport defects and recommend maintenance or renewal requirements. \nEnsure plant, tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.\nAbout you:\nWe are looking for Operators who understand the importance of safety minded outcomes in delivering services to customers.\nYou will bring:\nDemonstrated experience in manual or technical work.\nAbility to work safely in a field-based operational environment.\nExperience operating plant, equipment and tools relevant to construction or maintenance activities.\nStrong commitment to health, safety and customer service.\nWillingness to learn and develop knowledge of water, sewer and recycled water networks.\nThe following items while not essential will be highly regarded.\nDemonstrated experience in a manual, technical or operational role is desirable. \nCertificate III in Water Industry Operations, Civil Construction, Plumbing or a related field is desirable, or willingness to obtain.\nSound like you?
