Not the other way around.\nThis role is located onsite at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and develop system-critical mechanical hardware, including structures, enclosures, electromechanical packaging, thermal management, and environmental protection.\n\nCollaborate with hardware, safety, test, manufacturing, and supplier teams to translate product and engineering requirements into robust mechanical designs.\n\nOwn designs from analysis and CAD through prototype build, validation, root cause, and design iteration.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.\n\n3+ years of hands-on mechanical product design experience.\n\nProficiency in mechanical CAD; SolidWorks experience is preferred.\n\nExperience designing complex electromechanical systems, assemblies, enclosures, or mechanical packaging.\n\nStrong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including materials, tolerances, GD&T, and structural and/or thermal design.\n\nExperience taking hardware through prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design iteration.\n\nHighly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.\n\nEnjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic startup environment as part of a small team.\n\nWilling to occasionally travel.\n\nDue to the scope and responsibilities of this role, candidates must meet all U.S. person status requirements at the time of hire and maintain such status throughout their employment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n5+ years of experience in mechanical design.\n\nExperience designing rugged industrial equipment, robotics, material-handling equipment, outdoor electromechanical systems, or other complex electromechanical products.\n\nExperience with environmental sealing, ingress protection, thermal management, or environmental validation such as temperature, shock, vibration, or thermal cycling.\n\nExperience with FEA, CFD, or other engineering analysis tools.\n\nExperience designing hardware for hazardous locations, explosion-protected equipment, or other highly regulated industrial environments.\n\nFamiliarity with hazardous-location standards such as Class/Division, IECEx/ATEX, IEC/UL 60079, or UL 1203.\n\nHands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, and shop tools.\n\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $205,000 base plus equity and comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision plans, 401(k) plan, unlimited paid vacation time, paid sick leave, and parental leave. Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the noted geographic area.
