Provide vendors with the requested information or documents.\nProcure supplies and FF&E related to construction and renovation projects.\nWork collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Construction Procurement and college departments to identify product needs and specifications, placement of furniture and equipment, receiving, warehousing or storage needs, new equipment start-up, new equipment training, warranty, and follow-up.\nSupplemental Functions\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPerform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with College policies, procedures, and core values.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nKnowledge of construction and public procurement procedures, laws specific to higher education and construction methodologies\nKnowledge of various purchasing methods and procedures, products and sources, general and technical specifications\nKnowledge of District policies and procedures, and laws related to governmental and educational purchasing\nKnowledge of various computer programs for buyer purchasing\nKnowledge of accounting\nKnowledge of purchase order policies\nKnowledge of grant requirements for purchasing\nKnowledge of contract and vendor requirements\nCustomer Service skills\nVerbal and written communication skills\nOrganizational skills\nResearch skills\nAbility to pay attention to detail\nAbility to use the automated purchasing system to process purchase orders\nAbility to assist vendors with the bid process\nAbility to follow all requirements and methods with accuracy\nPhysical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort\nSedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Little physical effort required.\nRequirements\nAssociate degree from an accredited institution.\nTwo (2) years of related experience OR any combination of training and education and four (4) years of directly-related work experience.\nEquivalency Language For Internal Candidates:\nInternal candidates not meeting the minimum experience requirements of the position who are in good standing within the department and have shown the potential to advance to a more responsible role may be considered for the position by completing two (2) the NIGP accredited courses within one (1) year of taking this position.\nThe course selection must include two of the following course topics:\nContract Administration in the Public Sector, Introduction to Public Procurement, Legal Aspects of Public Procurement, Sourcing in the Public Sector, Developing and Managing Requests for Proposals, Risk Management in Public Contracting, Capital Acquisitions, and Introduction to Specifications.
