Data Quality & Engineering Standards\nImplement appropriate data quality, integrity, and testing controls across data models. \nEnsure models comply with established coding, naming, documentation, and testing standards. \nParticipate actively in PR reviews and DCB, providing technical feedback to other engineers. \nInvestigate data quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes rather than downstream workarounds. \nSupport implementation and adoption of Data Contracts for critical data elements. \n3. Automation & AI\nBuild practical automation that improves development, testing, deployment, documentation, and monitoring. \nDevelop solutions using Snowflake Cortex, LLMs, AI Agents, Python, and other relevant technologies. \nContribute to reusable AI and automation capabilities rather than creating isolated solutions. \nIdentify repetitive engineering activities that can be automated to improve squad productivity. \n4. Performance & Platform Optimisation\nOptimise Snowflake queries, dbt models, and warehouse consumption. \nSupport migration of complex Tableau/custom SQL workloads into governed dbt models. \nIdentify opportunities to improve model performance, reduce compute costs, and simplify the warehouse. \nContribute to platform modernisation and technical-debt reduction initiatives. \n5. Squad Delivery & Technical Support\nTake hands-on ownership of complex Analytics Engineering deliverables within the squad. \nWork closely with Product, BI, Data Engineering, Governance, and source-system teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. \nSupport investigation and resolution of production and data quality issues. \nProactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and blockers and drive them towards resolution. \nSupport cross-squad initiatives where specialist Analytics Engineering expertise is required. \n6. Mentoring & Engineering Enablement\nSupport and mentor Analytics Engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance. \nShare reusable patterns, solutions, and lessons learned across squads. \nContribute to engineering standards and Communities of Practice. \nHelp raise overall engineering capability while remaining a hands-on individual contributor. \nKey Technology Areas\nSnowflake\ndbt\nSQL\nPython\nAWS\nGit/CI/CD\nData Modelling\nSemantic Layers\nData Contracts\nData Quality & Observability\nSnowflake Cortex\nLLMs & AI Agents\nSkills & Experience\nMust Have\nStrong hands-on Analytics Engineering/Data Engineering experience, with expertise in Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and data modelling. \nProven ability to personally design, code, test, troubleshoot, and deliver production-grade data solutions. \nStrong understanding of dimensional modelling, incremental processing, data quality, and performance optimisation. \nExperience working with Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and modern software engineering practices. \nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex data issues across source and downstream systems. \nAbility to take ownership of complex technical problems and drive them through to resolution. \nExperience supporting and mentoring other engineers while remaining an active individual contributor. \nInterest or practical experience in applying GenAI, LLMs, AI Agents, or Snowflake Cortex to Analytics Engineering. \nNice to Have\nStrong Python experience. \nExperience with semantic layers, data contracts, lineage, and observability. \nExperience developing AI/automation solutions for data engineering. \nExperience with AWS and modern data integration patterns. \nExperience supporting Tableau or other enterprise BI platforms. \nSuccess Measures\nHands-on Delivery: Consistently delivers high-quality, production-ready solutions and takes ownership of complex engineering problems from design through implementation. \nData Modelling: Builds scalable and reusable models aligned with enterprise standards while reducing duplication. \nData Quality: Improves trust in data through effective testing, integrity controls, and root-cause remediation. \nPerformance & Cost: Demonstrates measurable improvements in Snowflake/dbt performance and compute efficiency. \nAutomation & AI: Delivers practical automation and AI capabilities that reduce manual engineering effort. \nSquad Enablement: Helps the squad deliver independently by solving technical blockers and mentoring engineers. \nEngineering Excellence: Produces maintainable, well-tested, documented code and consistently follows engineering standards.\nAbout us: Our story\nCollinson Group is a global leader in driving loyalty and engagement for many of the world’s largest companies.
