However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.\nPosition Summary:\nThe Chemist II is responsible for assisting with bioconjugation and protein purification. FPLC (Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography, HPLC, LCMS and other analytical instruments are used. This person will work on multiple projects simultaneously and stay current with new techniques in bioconjugation and purification.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nIt is everyone’s responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress.\n.\nSynthesis: Assist in the conjugation of proteins with various payloads, including but not limited to oligonucleotides, small molecule dyes, and others.\nPurification: Perform purification of proteins and conjugates, using established techniques on FPLC systems.\nAnalysis: Conduct analytical assays to characterize proteins and conjugates, including, but not limited to, LCMS, SEC, IEX, and others.\nDocumentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results using ELNS. Ensure all documentation is compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.\nLab Maintenance: Contribute to the maintenance of the laboratory.\n Collaboration: Work closely with senior chemists and other team members to support ongoing projects.\nUse of general laboratory equipment including but not limited to pipettors, centrifuges, incubators, biological safety cabinets and balances\nSoftware includes instrument-specific for capturing and analyzing data, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams/Sharepoint, etc), LIMS, electronic laboratory notebooks, etc.\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and suggest technical solutions to clients and management\nFollow the guidelines set forth with clients and Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.\nComply with clients’ and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.\nOther duties as defined by the Manager, department needs and workload\n\nHands on experience in protein purification and/or bioconjugation is a plus\nStrong laboratory skills and experience with analytical instrumentation such as AKTA, Agilent LC-MS and UPLC, Vanquish MX, Water’s QDA, as well as basic laboratory techniques and equipment (pipetting, mass spectrometry, chromatography) is required\nBasic understanding of biochemistry, bioconjugation, and stoichiometry\nStrong organizational skills and time management skills\nEffective communication skills for collaborating with team members and conveying technical information clearly.\nStrong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills\nAbility to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines\nIndividual and Team work ethic\nProficiency with Windows, Word & Excel\nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely\nPositive attitude, self-motivated, high level of engagement\nEagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced
