This position serves as a strategic business partner to subsidiary leadership and works closely with operations, sales, supply chain, and corporate management to improve profitability, optimize working capital, support growth initiatives, and ensure compliance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).\nThe Subsidiary Controller is accountable for the integrity of the subsidiary's financial information and provides financial leadership to support operational and strategic decision-making.\nDUTIES & RESPNSIBILITIES\nFinancial Leadership and Reporting\nDirect and oversee all accounting activities for the subsidiary, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.\nCoordinate and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.\nReview financial statements, operating results, and key performance indicators for accuracy, reasonableness, and consistency.\nAnalyze financial performance and communicate results, trends, risks, and opportunities to subsidiary and corporate leadership.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.\nBusiness Partnership and Performance Management\nPartner with subsidiary leadership to develop and execute strategies that improve profitability, cash flow, and return on invested capital.\nProvide financial guidance and decision support related to pricing, customer profitability, inventory management, capital expenditures, and growth initiatives.\nEvaluate financial impacts of operational decisions and recommend actions to improve business performance.\nParticipate in strategic planning and long-term business initiatives.\nBudgeting and Forecasting\nLead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities.\nDevelop financial models and business analyses to support management decision-making.\nMonitor performance against budget and forecast and explain significant variances.\nIdentify key drivers of financial performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.\nInventory and Operations Accounting\nOversee inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, and controls.\nMonitor inventory levels, turnover, obsolescence, and working capital performance.\nPartner with operations and supply chain leadership to improve inventory management and operational efficiency.\nAnalyze transportation, warehousing, packaging, and distribution costs and identify opportunities for improvement.\nInternal Controls and Compliance\nMaintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.\nCoordinate internal and external audit activities for the subsidiary.\nImplement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.\nCash Flow and Working Capital Management\nMonitor subsidiary cash flow, accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable performance.\nDevelop strategies to improve working capital utilization and cash generation.\nSupport treasury and financing initiatives as required.\nLeadership and Talent Development\nLead, supervise, and develop accounting and finance personnel within the subsidiary.\nEstablish performance expectations and provide coaching and professional development opportunities.\nFoster collaboration among finance, operations, sales, supply chain, and other functional areas.\nPromote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service.\nSpecial Projects\nSupport acquisitions, integrations, system implementations, and strategic initiatives.\nPerform special analyses and projects as requested by subsidiary or corporate leadership.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nSeven to ten years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.\nPrevious Controller, Assistant Controller, Finance Director, or Corporate Controller experience.\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.\nMaster of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.\nExperience in manufacturing, chemical distribution, logistics, supply chain, or industrial operations.\nExperience in a diversified, multi-location business environment.\nExperience with inventory-intensive operations and working capital management.\nExperience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES\nStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.\nExperience leading accounting teams and partnering with operational management.\nStrong financial and business acumen.\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to translate financial information into actionable business recommendations.\nStrong leadership and team development capabilities.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.\nAbility to influence decisions across multiple functional areas.\nStrong project management and organizational skills.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally and in writing.\nAbility to work for extended periods at a computer and use standard office equipment.\nMay occasionally be required to walk through manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or other operational areas.\nMay occasionally be exposed to typical industrial environments, including noise, varying temperatures, and moving equipment, while following all required safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAbility to
