Come build with us!\nThe opportunity\nColumn’s Correspondent Banking (CB) Compliance role will support the delivery of Column’s correspondent banking strategy as we expand into new geographies and onboard new banks. In this position, you will be responsible for implementing Column’s framework for onboarding correspondent banking relationships in a highly hands-on and execution-focused capacity.\nThis is a builder role for someone who thrives in operations-heavy environments, enjoys owning work end-to-end, and is comfortable with a scope that will continue to evolve as the business grows. You will have a critical impact in evaluating country-level risk, translating those risks into practical diligence requirements, designing rules to target geography and bank specific risks, and performing deep, end-to-end due diligence on correspondent bank partners globally.\nWhile an in-person presence in the Bank’s Presidio-based office is strongly preferred, this role is open to remote applicants with the expectation of frequent travel.\nWhat you’ll do\nExecute a comprehensive onboarding framework:\nEnhance existing procedures, requirements, and processes for onboarding correspondent banks globally\n\nRun the diligence process for new countries and be responsible for mapping all geo-specific risks, writing country risk assessments, and designing rules and systems to detect and monitor these risks.\n\nExecute the onboarding process for new correspondent bank partners according to the framework, policies, and procedures developed.\n\nLead the periodic review process for partner banks.\n\nSupport ongoing monitoring:\nPartner with other Compliance and Risk stakeholders to refine and execute ongoing monitoring expectations for correspondent banking relationships, including periodic reviews, trigger events, and escalation criteria\n\nSupport business development conversations:\nBe a partner to our Go-to-Market (GTM) team as they build relationships and sell to prospective banks.\n\nHelp our GTM evaluate good target customers.\n\nEducate prospective customers on what it’s like to work with Column and our risk and compliance teams.\n\nSupport new product build out:\nWork closely with GTM and Business teams to coordinate product rollouts and navigate regional risks.\n\nProvide clear guardrails and discovery guidance to streamline customer engagement.\n\nCreate and deliver customer-facing documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance (e.g., requirements for bank customers).\n\nWhat you’ll need to be successful\n6-8+ years of regulatory, compliance or risk management experience with a focus on international financial activity. Previous correspondent banking experience is ideal but not required.\n\nPreferred: professional fluency in Russian\n\nAbility to build and operational policies, procedures, and workflows\n\nStrong familiarity with underwriting geographic and political risks\n\nExceptional communication skills, with the ability to create detailed, clear documentation for a diverse range of stakeholders\n\nAbility to jump into new situations and quickly solve problems, with an eye towards architecting solutions that will scale\n\nHyper-organized approach to project management, including coordinating efforts across multiple teams; comfort juggling multiple projects and priorities is critical\n\nScrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude - we thrive because we work harder, are more creative, and have zero ego when it comes to getting our hands dirty to build a business\n\nAbility to travel frequently\nIf you are not located in San Francisco we expect a monthly trip in the first six months and five times a year going forward.\n\nHeavy international travel to client and prospective banks.\n\nWe look forward to hearing from you\nColumn is committed to working with the best and brightest people from the broadest talent pool possible.
