Application Engineer-Internship

Job Purpose

The Application Engineer Intern supports ComAp’s technical design, troubleshooting, and documentation support. This role helps ensure customers receive high-quality service while the intern gains hands-on experience with ComAp products, control systems, and real-world engineering applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn the fundamentals of the ComAp product portfolio and assist with basic technical inquiries.
• Support senior Application Engineers during customer calls, product installations, commissioning, and training sessions.
• Assist with reviewing wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation; CAD exposure is a plus.
• Help prepare and update training materials, application notes, and technical service documentation.
• Participate in in-house training sessions and observe on-site visits when appropriate.
• Aid the team in gathering customer requirements and documenting findings for engineering and sales teams.
• Support cross-functional communication to ensure timely follow-up on customer needs.
• Learn to use internal systems and tools used for project tracking and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, Hybrid Microgrids, generators, engines, or control systems.
• Interest in learning wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and power/control systems.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with technical and sales teams.
• Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and comfort asking questions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license preferred (for occasional field support).
• Ability to travel minimally for training or supervised customer visits (less than 5%).

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Energy/Power focus), Electronics, or a closely related technical field.
