As part of our 30+ member Product Marketing team based in Prague's Holešovice district, you will be the driving force behind the InteliNeo 530, our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) controller, at the centre of ComAp's push into the energy transition.\nAs Product Owner, you will act as the technical architect of the InteliNeo 530: translating requirements from the Product Manager, Sales, and customers into functional specifications that our R&D teams build into working systems. You will be the critical link ensuring that what gets developed genuinely reflects how BESS operates in the field - not just what looks good on paper.\nAt ComAp, we develop control units that manage and monitor energy sources, helping prevent power outages in critical infrastructure such as hospitals, banks, and data centres. Our controllers are installed worldwide across industries and the energy sector - and BESS is where that story is heading next.\nWhat we're looking for\nWe're looking for someone with real, hands-on BESS experience - both the technical components (cells, inverters, battery management systems) and the application side: how storage is actually deployed and used in the field. Experience with DER (Distributed Energy Resources) power management is highly valued, and candidates who understand power integration and power flow control between BESS and other energy sources - gensets, solar, wind, and grid - will be strongly preferred.\nAbove all, we need someone who can bridge the gap between product needs and development scope without losing sight of how BESS actually behaves. Anyone can write code - we need a Product Owner who ensures that what we ask R&D to build adds real value, builds on what already works, and strengthens the reliability of the solution, rather than introducing features disconnected from real-world operation. This is the single most important thing we're hiring for: the judgement to know which features genuinely belong on a BESS system, and the technical credibility to make that case to R&D.\nFamiliarity with traditional power generation concepts - AC/DC, synchronization, frequency, power factor - is a strong bonus, since BESS increasingly operates alongside gensets and the grid, but it is not a requirement on its own.\nYour responsibilities\nTranslate BESS product and customer requirements into functional specifications that reflect real-world operating behaviour\nAnalyze and identify gaps or change requests from internal stakeholders (Sales, subsidiaries, distributors) and customers (technicians and end users)\nCollaborate closely with the Product Manager, other Product Owners, and HW/SW teams (architects, developers, testers, etc.)\nGather and process requirements from colleagues or directly from customers and manage the product backlog for the InteliNeo 530\nEnsure development scope preserves and enhances system reliability, rather than adding disconnected or unsupported functionality\nPrepare documentation covering all aspects of projects, including risks and mitigation strategies\nSupport troubleshooting of customer issues and internal technical challenges related to BESS integration\nCommunicate across R&D departments (e.g. Communication team, other Product Owners, HMI team, PC team, etc.)\nOccasionally travel abroad to visit customers (typically up to one week every two months)\nYour profile\n3-5 years of experience in a Product Owner, Application Engineer, or similar technical role involving BESS or DER\nSignificant, hands-on BESS experience - both technical components and real-world application use cases\nUnderstanding of DER power management; experience with power integration or power flow control across BESS, gensets, solar, wind, or grid is a strong advantage\nDemonstrated ability to translate product and customer needs into development scope that reflects how BESS actually operates in the field -
