Make necessary arrangements to have work performed by outside shop and track as needed.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE\n(other duties may be assigned)\nMaintain various types of molds by performing the proper mold break down, cleaning and preventive maintenance.\nInspect and perform precision measurements of molds and tooling components and compare to print specification to determine ware.\nPrepare and operate variety of machine tools, such as but not limited to, radial drill press, lathes, milling machines, band/table saw and sand blasters, to machine metal work pieces usually on custom basis.\nFabricate advanced metallic and nonmetallic parts and fit & assemble machined parts into complete units.\nRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts.\nMeasure, mark, and write dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.\nParticipate in development and training of mold mechanic I employees.\nAdhere to and communicate to others the Health, Safety and Quality policies, including use of PPE\nMaintains a clean and safe work environment and keeps work area clean of debris.\nContribute to the team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.\nAdhere to and communicate to others all plant Health, Safety and Quality guidelines and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this position function successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nInitiated machinist apprenticeship or journeyman program with measurement technique certification; OR comparable experience.\n3+ years’ work experience in setting up and operation of Lathes, manual mill, drill press, grinders sand blaster and other machining equipment.\n3+ years’ experience using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges and other precision measuring equipment.\nAdvanced knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties.\nPreferred:\nVocational or trade school in related trade.\nSKILLS-ABILITIES\nSelf-motivated, conscientious, with a results-oriented mindset.\nGood time management, organizational and communication skills to work independently and also in a team environment.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to read in metric units and the imperial (US math) system.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to speak clearly before groups of customers or fellow employees.\nAbility to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications.\nAbility to use measuring tools, depth gauges, height gauges, micrometers and calipers.\nAbility to communicate clearly and effectively before groups of customers or fellow employees.\nAbility to develop and train Mechanic I and other production associates as needed.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.\nStrong technical aptitude, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.\nSound judgment - ability to work efficiently with many competing demands.\nRegularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms\nAbility to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift or move up to fifty pounds.\nOccasionally lift up to 50 lbs and move 100+ pounds with proper gear or equipment.\nRequired vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
