The role acts as a technical resource, optimizing data processes and storage to support key business initiatives.Job Description\nData Engineer 3 - Data Governance\nPosition Summary: We are seeking a Data Governance Engineer 3 with strong Data Engineering expertise and practical experience implementing Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Lineage solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enabling trusted, governed, and high-quality enterprise data while building scalable cloud-based data platforms.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT frameworks using Python, PySpark, and Apache Spark.\nBuild and support scalable data platforms on AWS using services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, and Lambda.\nLead development of robust data ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions for large-scale datasets.\nDesign and implement data quality frameworks, validation controls, monitoring mechanisms, and remediation processes.\nDrive metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and business glossary initiatives across data platforms.\nCollaborate with Data Stewards, Data Owners, Architects, Product Teams, and Engineering teams to implement governance requirements.\nDefine and promote data governance standards, controls, and best practices across data engineering teams.\nSupport governance adoption through automation, engineering standards, and reusable framework development.\nDevelop and maintain data models supporting reporting, analytics, and business intelligence requirements.\nBuild solutions based on Medallion Architecture and Lakehouse design principles.\nContribute to Common Data Engineering frameworks, standards, accelerators, and reusable components.\nAnalyze and resolve complex data quality, reliability, and performance issues across data platforms.\nEnsure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements.\nReview code, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.\nDrive operational excellence through monitoring, optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nRequired Skills\n4.5 - 7.5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or related fields.\nStrong hands-on expertise in Python.\nAdvanced experience with PySpark or Apache Spark.\nStrong SQL development, optimization, and data modeling skills.\nExperience working with AWS-based data platforms and services.\nHands-on experience designing and maintaining ETL solutions.\nUnderstanding modern Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, and Lakehouse concepts.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery models.\nPractical experience in Data Governance implementation.\nKnowledge of Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Data Lineage, and Data Stewardship.\nExposure to MDM, data compliance, and regulatory requirements.\nGood to Have\nExperience implementing Data Quality frameworks and controls.\nExperience with governance tools such as Atlan.\nUnderstanding Data Observability and Governance operating models.\nStrong analytical, stakeholder management, mentoring, ownership, and communication skills.\nResponsibilities:\nDesigning and constructing data architectures and pipelines to standardize, transform, and ensure the integrity of data for business insights\nGuaranteeing data quality throughout the ingestion, processing, and loading phases, with a focus on maintaining high standards\nEngineering robust ingestion frameworks for a variety of data types, while monitoring and reporting on data quality\nDeveloping accessible methods for data consumption, including APIs, database views, and data extracts for user applications\nImplementing data solutions on multiple platforms such as Kubernetes, Teradata, and cloud services like AWS and Databricks\nSelecting appropriate data storage platforms based on data sensitivity, privacy requirements, and access needs\nMastering data lineage and applying transformation rules for effective change management and issue resolution\nCollaborating with cross-functional teams to refine data sourcing and processing, ensuring optimal data quality and efficiency\nConsistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.\nRegular, consistent and punctual attendance.
