It involves directing engineers in security best practices and maintaining the network's defense systems. The role plays a crucial part in protecting the Company's information systems.Job Description\nJob summary\nIndependently performs standard network upgrades using approved automation tools and completes documented manual upgrades when tools fail, while troubleshooting common network and upgrade-related issues.\nKey roles and responsibilities\n· Provide day-to-day operational support for routers and switches, including alert response, incident handling, service requests, and standard changes.\n· Troubleshoot common interface, reachability, packet-loss, latency, hardware, and configuration issues.\n· Own assigned tickets through diagnosis, remediation, validation, documentation, and closure within established priorities and escalation paths.\n· Perform device health checks, configuration backup and restore, software and hardware inventory updates, and operational readiness checks.\n· Review MOPs, prerequisites, image compatibility, device readiness, backups, and rollback requirements before execution.\n· Execute standard upgrades through approved tools and validate each workflow stage and result.\n· Perform manual network device upgrades using the approved MOP when the automation tool is unavailable, fails, or produces incomplete results.\n· Troubleshoot common image transfer, boot variable, storage, reachability, protocol adjacency, interface, authentication, and post-upgrade validation issues.\n· Make controlled decisions within the MOP, stop work when risk thresholds are reached, and escalate complex or service-impacting conditions.\n· Execute rollback procedures and verify service restoration when upgrade acceptance criteria are not met.\n· Coordinate with operations, engineering, application, monitoring, and change-management teams during maintenance activities.\n· Document defects and improvement opportunities in upgrade tools and procedures.\nPreferred skills and experience\n· Working knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, and IS-IS.\n· Hands-on experience with routers and switches from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Nokia.\n· Experience with network OS upgrades, configuration backup/restore, monitoring, logs, and incident troubleshooting.\n· Basic scripting or automation awareness is desirable.\nEducation and certifications\n· BE/B.Tech/M.Sc/MCA or equivalent technology qualification.\n· Preferred certification: CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS\nCommon behavioral attributes\n· Clear written and verbal communication.\n· Disciplined adherence to approved procedures and change controls.\n· Collaborative, transparent, and accountable working style.\n· Continuous learning and support for innovative technology.\n· Ability to remain methodical during maintenance windows and service-impacting events.\nWe believe that benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most, and should help you care for those who matter most.
