You will lead a team of QA engineers, mentor them toward stronger technical and strategic practice, and partner with engineering, product, and design leaders to define how Comfrt approaches quality.\nWe have a QA foundation in place, and this is a chance to build on it. We are looking for a highly technical leader who can set direction and stay close enough to the work to credibly guide it, across React-based web frontends, React Native mobile apps, and a serverless microservices backend on AWS.\nResponsibilities:\n\nStrategy & Leadership\nDefine and drive QA strategy across the Storefront, Internal Apps, and Mobile pods, formalizing our practices into clear, documented standards, processes, and ownership\nEstablish quality standards, including release readiness criteria, severity guidelines, and test coverage expectations\nPartner with engineering, product, and design leaders to embed quality into planning, development, and release\nDefine and report on quality metrics, and use them to guide priorities\nTeam Management & Mentorship\nManage, coach, and develop QA engineers\nMentor the team on test design, automation, accessibility, and effective use of AI tools\nTooling & Process\nEvaluate and select QA tooling, including test management and bug tracking platforms, and lead its rollout\nOwn test planning, test case, and regression processes across all pods\nHands-On Quality Engineering\nContribute to and review automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript\nGuide API and integration testing for our serverless backend on AWS\nPartner with engineers on testing our headless, React-based storefront and web applications\nDrive accessibility testing against WCAG 2.2 AA across web and mobile\nStep in on complex or high-risk testing and release validation as needed\nQualifications:\n7-10 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing within a web, mobile, or digital product environment\n2+ years of experience leading, managing, or formally mentoring QA engineers\nDemonstrated experience defining QA strategy and maturing QA processes\nStrong technical background, with proficiency in TypeScript and the ability to read, review, and write code alongside engineers\nHands-on experience with test automation using Playwright and TypeScript, or similar\nWorking knowledge of React and how modern web applications are built, rendered, and deployed\nHands-on experience testing headless or composable eCommerce architectures (experience limited to Liquid theme-based storefronts is not a substitute)\nBasic understanding of AWS and serverless, microservices-based architectures\nSolid understanding of manual testing methodologies and test case design\nExperience writing and executing API tests, including REST and GraphQL\nExperience with test management platforms and bug tracking tools\nExperience with accessibility testing against WCAG 2.2 AA\nExperience using AI tools to accelerate test development and QA workflows\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to influence engineering, product, and design leaders\nNice to Have:\nExperience building or maturing a QA function at a high-growth company\nExperience testing Shopify-powered eCommerce experiences\nExperience testing React Native applications and with mobile automation frameworks such as Maestro, Detox, or Appium\nExperience testing gamified product features such as streaks, progression systems, or reward logic\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n Why Join Comfrt?\nBe part of a purpose-driven company that’s shaping the future of comfort and mental wellness.\nWork in a supportive, creative environment where your ideas and growth are valued.\nEnjoy Comfrt benefits such as generous paid time off, company-covered health insurance, 5% 401k match, and discounts on all Comfrt products! \nJoin a passionate team making an impact on exciting projects, all while enjoying the flexibility and collaborative support of a fully remote environment.\nComfort is an equal opportunity employer.
